First the positives - 1) Excellent Location - Near Roma Termini Train junction (walking distance of 10 mins) 2) Helpful Staff - Particularly Mr. Gianluca, 3) Proximity to good restaurants like Allesio and Galina Bianca. 3) Spacious rooms with good amenities 4) Excellent décor throughout...More
I had reasonable expectations of this place given the good reviews.
I found the shower hanging off my wall and the bed was really far too soft and of really bad quality.
When I tried raising these issues, I was brushed aside and not taken...More
The hotel is located at around 3 minute walk from Roma Termini station. We were greeted warmly at the reception. The hotel is a nicely decorated typical European style hotel with good amenities. The staff was also quite helpful. The buffet spread is quite good....More
The Hotel Impero is a typical, European-style hotel in every respect: good service, acceptable breakfast buffet, very reasonable rates, clean, comfortable and not overly impressed with itself. Where it shines is location -- close to major sites and to the railroads serving other cities in...More

Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up
basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

Shuttles from ciampino airport are frequent during the day and the most effective way to reach the city center. From Fiumicino you can catch the train to Roma Tiburtina OR Roma Termini - I'm not sure which stop is closest to the hotel. You'll need to check the metro system and see hoe far the closest metro station is positioned. If I'm not mistaken there should be one in the immediate vicinity
