I use booking.com regularly and stayed in this hotel in 2014 on honeymoon. Travelling with my 80 year old mom, I thought it would be lovely to return to Hotel Milton Roma. What a disappointment and stress. I made the booking and used the same card that secured the booking at the current hotel we are staying in, in Rome. I received a notification that payment 3 days before check in was declined on the credit card. I emailed twice requesting that I pay on arrival as sometimes the South African banks do this without a pin and verification. No reply from either the hotel or booking. Com until last night the 3rd May. On our return to our current hotel, I checked again and to my horror the booking was cancelled by the hotel. I called the Milton Roma and to no avail. They are fully booked, no apology and a very arrogant retort for a non reply. Left stranded with an 80 year old is not fun! A confirmation. Email from booking.Com arrived later last night with clear details that the booking is payable at the property! Please be careful when booking at Hotel Milton Roma avoid enduring this experience!…
No Air Conditioning. Next to a busy and noisy street. Do not bother. Rooms are small, cramped and poorly furnished. The staff has an arrogant attitude towards guests. This place ruined the whole Rome experience for us.
We stayed for 4 days and 3 nights at the Hotel Milton and it was a great experience. The hotel is not exactly central but very accessible, it is directly in front of the metro line and a 10-15 min walk to the Colosseum! It also has a great gourmet store just opposite the hotel. The staff at the hotel was really nice and welcoming, always there with a warm smile! The room itself was okay, nothing special! The only thing we disliked was that the walls of the room were too thin and you could hear everyone in the hallways. Otherwise, there was nothing else to complain about in the room. The buffet breakfast itself was quite satisfactory. Nothing fancy but meets all the requisites of a decent breakfast! Cold cut meats (really recommend the HAM!), cheese, bacon, eggs, bread etc. The confectionery was really impressive with a good selection of sweet goods. We even had a tiramisu as an option one day and it was quite well made! They d need to put up some signs around the hotel as it seemed there were minor renovations going on and it was not exactly easy to understand the exact location of the hotel. But the staff more than made up for it. I would give a solid 8/10. Very reasonably priced 4-star hotel in a great location.…
The hotel was very central and easy to find , about 10 minutes walk from the colosseum. The staff was polite and helpful. The room was spacious with a very comfortable double bed. The star of our stay was the amazing breakfast!!
This hotel have a great location, near Colosseum, metro station across the street, Termini station also 15 minute walk. Rooms are ok, a bit worn down, but clean. Staff are polite and nice. The only thing - poor selection of breakfast. Few bread, ham cheese, turkey breast, bacon, scrambled egg, tomato's, kiwi, 2 juices, boiled eggs. I visited this hotel 5 years ago and that time the breakfast selection was amazing. Now it's not even close. Probably it's because of the pandemic, I understand that its not that many tourists, read revenue, anymore. Over all I would suggest this hotel.
So it's a good price for a nice place to stay, the best shower, the best bad and the stuff is just wonderful, good breakfast, it's everything u need for the rest of the day, u can skip lunch with all that food!
Well, it’s a very good choice! Honestly, you can enjoy a very good breakfast for all preferences, everything was clean, a very beautiful room with a comfortable bed and also wide shower. About hotel position: The metro station is exactly opposite of the hotel and Colosseum about 1,5km away. Almost close everything( food, drinks, shops)! The staff was friendly and helpful. Last day, they prepared for us a very satisfy box breakfast because we had leave very early before breakfast time. We highly recommend it!
We visited Rome for 3 nights and this hotel was perfect for the price we paid. The location was perfect, it was a 10 minute walk to the colloseum. The room was nice and clean, The hotel is also quite loud at night with the metro nearby which vibrates the room. We had breakfast once at the hotel, which was very very good. There was also a nice garden area with a bar and seating. The room was big with an amazing bad
My wife and I were planning a Euro-trip for our anniversary this year and has planned out the hotels and flights around the end of 2019; however, since the COVID-19 happened, our flight from US to Paris was cancelled, which also prevented us from traveling Paris to Italy. Due to the cancellation of our Paris trip, this has prevented us from going on our Euro-trip (since we couldn't even go to Europe). Most of our flights and hotels were generous enough to provide us with a voucher to be used next year, which we are planning to go on the trip again; however, Hotel Milton Roma has refused to provide us with a voucher nor a refund since they were staying open. I understand that we have purchased a non-refundable stay, but as the time we are in now, it would have been nice for them to offer at least a voucher as other European hotels and airlines did (Paris and Greece).…
We visited Rome for 4 nights and this hotel was perfect for the price we paid. The location was perfect, it was a 10 minute walk to the colloseum. The room was nice and clean, the only downfall was that the air con wasn't great. The hotel is also quite loud at night with the metro nearby which vibrates the room. We had breakfast once at the hotel, it was ok but we decided to go and find different places to have breakfast as the waitresses had to come up to the buffet to serve you (due to Covid) and it was more hassle then just going to a cafe down the road and ordering a proper meal. There is also a nice garden area with a bar and seating (the drinks were quite pricey but it was a nice place to sit). On arrival we were not informed that there was a tax to pay at the end of our trip (which came to almost 50 euros), it would have been nice to have known about this before hand, as in my experience with other places I have traveled to, if there is ever a tax to pay, they let you know at the start and not the end of the stay.…
