This was our second trip to Rome, and previously we stayed near the Via Veneto and enjoyed it tremendously. While not as "fancy" as our other hotel, the Camelia was very nice, and front desk staff made us comfortable from the minute we arrived. No doubt they tire of answering the same questions and giving countless directions each day, but... More

We stayed there for 4 days to visit all the great places in Rome. The room was small but clean and the furniture looked antique, I liked the style of the room. We also got breakfast, which was okay. The staff was nice as well. We walked nearly everything from the hotel. Two subway stations were nearby, which we used... More

The hotel is very central and the staff very helpful and friendly. The room was small but clean. The bedding needs replacement and the wifi was not working any of the three days we were there. Breakfast was very basic. If you just need a place to sleep this hotel will do, but don't expect more.

Our room was a nice size, great air conditioning. The front desk was always helpful and courteous. Breakfast was very good. The best part was the location. The hotel is a short walk to the train station. Great restaurants within walking distance. Overall a great experience, spent three nights at this hotel and would return.

Was travelling as a couple with our adult daughter. Our room was spotless and roomy ( our daughter 's single room was small). Location is good. Good value for price. Room numbering very confusing! Staff pleasant. Breakfast satisfactory. Staff organised our transfer to the airport...was same price as 3 train tickets! Can recommend for those seeking central, clean and comfortable... More

Dear guest, thank you for your feedback. Our staff at the front desk is multilingual and we are glad you appreciated their kindness and effort in helping all of our guests. I also assure you that our breakfast staff is very polite as well, but sometimes it gets really busy and they have to run back and forward to satisfy... More

There were some really good things about this hotel: the staff, lovely and friendly, the cleanliness, it was near the station and easy to find, vital when lugging heavy cases. However there were a few not so good things: the bath was tiny, and I'm small, and the water was Luke warm at best! Also, out of the 5 hotels... More

Our Italian holiday began in Rome. I used Trip Advisor to upgrade the default hotels provided in my vacation package, and I was not disappointed with this upgrade. An easy walk from Roma Termini train station. We walked there multiple times a day to catch the subway. The staff here was very friendly and accommodating. Nice room with everything we... More

We were very impressed with the service we received on arrival, including talking us through some of the sights and transport options. Room was clean, good size and comfy bed. Appreciated the spare pillows in the wardrobe. Excellent shower but the toilet was very high off the ground.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
