When we came out of Termini station, we thought this area is a bit rough ( there were 4 of us, wife and two children). Don't be fooled by the area it was perfectly safe. Rudy's is a lovely little b&b located on the top floor of a building, the room is nice and clean and the owner, is a...

We stayed here for four nights on a mother/daughter trip. The B&B is located just down the street from Termini Train Station-about a 5 minute walk. There are tons of restaurants and convenient stores nearby. The area looks a little worn down, but so does much of Rome. If you can get passed the trash on the streets (not around...

Be prepared to be patient. This property is a room in private home. It is basic. Furnishings in the room are not welcoming. There is no public space. You will live like a local for your time there, eating out and a walk away. We were not expected. Apparently, Rudy's is loosely connected to other similar facilities. The good news...

My husband and I stayed at this 'hotel' for 2 nights in September this year. It was awful. It is not a real hotel but just a few rooms on the second floor of a nondescript building on Via Napoleone 111. After giving my credit card number when we booked, and on arriving telling the lady at the desk in...

We enjoyed our stay. It's a nice place. We met Rudy, seems like a good guy. We stayed in the room just past the check-in desk on the right. Clean, there's a TV up on the wall, bathroom has a shower and all the usual bits. First morning there were other people using the water and we could only get...

We stayed three nights. Hotel was called Bed & Breakfast Rudy, but said they didn't do breakfast. The service was very ordinary. The hotel was walking distance to train station and our room was clean and comfortable, but was too hard to get to. From the street we had a key to open the wooden door, then go up a...

Just stayed at B&B Rudy for 3 nights. The room was comfortable, at best, and it's located conveniently close to the metro A line. However, I think it would be possible to find a much nicer place for the same price. The owners seemed disorganized and one of the workers was extremely rude to us. She didn't speak a word...

I booked a room at Rudy's but when I arrived I was taken to another hotel (Cosmos b&b). I was not informed earlier that I will be relocated (I contacted the hotel a day before arrival and the staff confirmed that everything is fine). I think it is not fair at all. The second b&b was located farther from the...

Nice place to stay for a little/medium time in Rome; very friendly personell. The give you keys for mor frredom in coming back. Change towels once after two nights. I asked for the recipe/bill, but they didn't give me in time, even if they promised me in the room. A litle bit of rumors in the streets all around.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
