This quirky apartment is contained in a gorgeous block a EUR40 taxi ride from Leonardo d Vinci airport. So if there are three or more of you travelling together, a cab is both cheaper and more comfortable than the train. For the price this place is really a gem. True, its charms are a little “shabby chic” but the uniqueness...

Lovely duplex room - spacious, high ceilings and very comfortable - so unique and more interesting than staying in your average hotel. Excellent location, right in the heart of the Trastevere area, really lovely area with some great restaurants. Within walking distance of all main sights. Rome is a beautfully charming city and staying at this b&b helped make visiting...

This B&B is in an excellent location for Trastevere but also within walking distance of the Centro Storico. We stayed for 2 nights and the woman who runs the place was very friendly. The B&B only has this one room, located in an old building on a pretty cobbled street. The room is beautiful in an eccentric and theatrical way...

We have been to Rome many times and know it quite well, but this time good friends recommended the Ancient Trastevere bed and breakfast, We trust them so we were pretty confident we would like it. We loved it. It is situated in an extraordinary building on via della lungara .You enter a massive wooden door and once inside you...

I have no idea why this B&B is rated so well by so many people. Pictures posted on the website are beautiful but not very representative of the hotel itself, which is old, hot and in a location that is not very accessible. (1) The Room Itself There is one fan for the whole room, which spans 2 floors. The...

We've stayed in this B&B for 5 nights in May 2010. The Room The room is devided in a living area downstairs, with the bedroom and bathroom upstairs. The bedroom is very romantic and confortable. The bathroom is small and unless you're shorther than 1,50M, you won't be able to take a shower while standing. For us it is not...

An absolute gem in the Giancolo area. Am almost afraid to recommend it as I don't want it to be fully booked in the future - to allow me to return myself.

This charming little B&B is certainly worth all of it's value. A little hard to find, since there is no sign on the street. But as soon as you find it it fills all the hopes we had. The bed is comfortable, the owner Elisabetta is lovely and the location is splendid. I lived in Rome for a year earlier...

We spent 5 nights here in April and absolutely loved it! The apartment was spacious, charming and in an amazing location. The bed was quite possibly the most comfortable and largest bed we have ever slept in…and the shower perhaps the most quirky! We were able to walk to almost anywhere within half an hour and found great places to...

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
