The main point to stay in this hotel is the location. It's literally at the centre of the Rome. We were able to walk everywhere and did not take bus or train even once during our 5 days stay. Breakfast is huge - hot and cold choices, including fresh fruits, yogurts, omelettes, cereal, sausages, selection of pastries and cols cuts....

Perfect position for sightseeing, easy walking distance to Colosseum, Roman Forum, Pantheon and many more. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms had many extras if you had forgotten any toiletries, they were all there, in fact there was no need to take any with you. Breakfast had plenty of variety including both hot and cold food. During the winter...

The hotel is centrally located near the Piazza Venezia. It is close to bus and tram stations. The team is very professional and courteous. Breakfast is quite rich and varied. Clean rooms with nice furniture. Bathrooms and toilets very clean and well equipped. If I visit Rome again I will choose the same hotel. recommended. Worth the price paid.

This is a very good hotel (not perfect but then what is?). It is very well situated, being central to all the popular historical sites. The staff are helpful, polite and friendly. The roof top bar (open in the evening) is a real bonus. Breakfast is also very good. The hotel is plenty warm enough (but being mud November the...

This is definitely not a 4 star hotel! I've never been dissatisfied with a hotel experience as I was during my stay at this place. I even had to relocate to a different hotel before my paid stay is over, this is how bad this place is. I hated everything about this place. The dirty carpet and bed, cold and...

The breakfast was nice and the location was amazing however, the staff weren't always very friendly, the room was extremely cold and I was told that the heating would not be switched on until mid November. This is unacceptable. When you are in a hotel you should be able to feel comfortable and warm and if you like to have...

This hotel is absolutely lovely and in a great location - all of the main attractions are within walking distance and the Jewish ghetto (which has several nice and reasonably priced places to eat) is a 10 minute walk away. The reception staff point out where to find things and how to get there. The rooms themselves are clean and...

From the moment we arrived we had a friendly reception from Pierre, who gave us information about the hotel and then gave us a map and pointed out all the main attractions. Arrived at our room to find it basic, tidy and clean. The carpet looked a little stained but it was ok. Location of the hotel was perfect, off...

Staying in Piazza Venezia / Ancient City

Neighbourhood Profile
Piazza Venezia / Ancient City
If all roads lead to Rome, then they all end here. Piazza Venezia and the Ancient City are the very epicenter of the Eternal City. Within a 360-degree turn, Roman history unrolls in front of you, from its ancient beginnings to its 21st century transformations. Whether it’s those historical playgrounds known as the Roman and Imperial Forums, or the side-street shops, trattorie, and churches, this neighbourhood packs a cultural punch and then some. Screaming scooters, battling buses, crazy cars, and lots of foot traffic converge in the area all day long. By dusk, a different vibe emerges as the neighbourhood quiets down. Don't be surprised if you find yourself passing through the Piazza Venezia at least once a day, since it’s the most direct way to get from one side of town to another.
