I stayed in a single private room on The Urbe which is a separate building offered from The Beehive hostal. The staff at The Beehive main building is very friendly, that building is very close to Roma Termini, and The Urbe its like a block away from the main Beehive building. So to round it up, a more than excellent...

I strongly recommend Hotel dell'Urbe to others and look forward to staying here again. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and easy to talk to. As college students travelling on a budget, the receptionist was extremely helpful in explaining the best rate for us. We stayed in a triple room for three nights and our room was always clean, comfortable, and...

Visited Rome on a small budget back for a couple of days and booked to stay at the Hotel dell'Urbe because of it's close location to Termini Station. Rooms are an average size and were clean, comfortable beds, a fridge is located in the room and there is plenty of storage within the room.

The Beehive hostel: Great staff, friendly welcome and given super handy tourist map and directions upon arrival. Found the location very convenient as it's super close to the Termini train station where you can also catch the metro to get around town. The hostel gave us a free drink at their cafe which we used one evening to have a...

We stayed here in a triple room for two nights in October 2016. We booked and checked in through the Beehive Hotel, whose website had very comprehensive directions on getting there from the airport via the train. Getting from the Beehive to Hotel dell'urbe was similarly easy to manage. Room was big enough for three people and our luggage. Don't...

My title says most of it! Steve was ever so generous with his time to point me in the right direction for things. Though a very basic accommodation, it was clean, safe and comfortable. Perfect location to all the major sites! If I get to Rome again, I would definitely be back.

Great Place to stay! Safe! with a built in resource with the family and staff of the Beehive. We(I brought my 18 year old niece as a HS graduation trip) felt so safe and comfortable at the Hotel Urbe. It was a home away from home. Steve and Linda along with their staff were available even before we made it...

We loved the location in central Rome close to Termini. It was easy to get to the buses or hail a cab making it ideal for exploring the city. We felt the room was a good value for the price and we would definitely stay here again.

It's a basic hotel used as overflow for the Beehive Hostel. It was conveniently located with a short walk to the main train station. The Beehive has an app that is priceless as it has so many great recommendations of nearby restaurants in non-touristy neighborhoods. Our rooms at Urbe were on 5th floor but conveniently reached via elevator. I felt...

The hotel is a great little find and very central to the train station which was key for us. Only 20 mins walk from the Colosseum and 10-15 from great area of restaurants and bars although some are even closer. Unique breakfast options in their Organic cafe and lovely relaxed atmosphere. Brought us back to our traveling days. Really recommend...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
