We spent two days in Rome, Italy and stayed at the Hotel Cecil for two nights April 9-10, 2017. This hotel is small but modern and has everything you need. The rooms are well designed and has large open air windows. I enjoyed opening the windows in the morning and at night to allow for the cool breeze to enter....

A small hotel with sensible sized single rooms with en suite facilities, comfortable beds and free wi fi. Breakfast is a bit meagre and chaotic but okay for the price paid. A small roof terrace bar open in late afternoon/early evening is a pleasant venue away from the bustle which is Rome. Conveniently situated to a metro station (two stops...

A large group (25) of teenagers and adults arrived at the Hotel late in the evening. After taking care of getting us all into rooms and accommodating our needs it was after 10 pm and the group was very hungry. The man at the desk went down the street and arranged for all of us to have dinner at a...

I brought a group of 16 artists to the Cecil for 8 nights April-May and being that I had never been there before depended in large part on the reviews here. The things that stick out: Adele is one of the managers and we must have exchanged 30-40 emails before our arrival. She was always incredibly prompt in replying even...

The staff at Hotel Cecil were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is very close to the Spanish Steps and a short walk to the Trevi Fountain, great location. They have a lovely rooftop terrace bar which is a lovely place to relax at the end of the day. Breakfast was very fresh and tasty. Kettle and fridge in room...

Get the 5th floor if you can. Its newly renovated and the rooms are quite spacious. Our other room on the third floor however is a different story. Small shower stall(minute), aircon not working. This hotel would have been a two review if we only saw the room on the third floor. Special mention to the front desk though. All...

Dear Sir, we really appreciate that you noticed our renovation on the 5th floor. All the floors have been recently improved and doublechecked from our staff for the new season, including the A/C system. The shower for standard rooms are regular size, the ones in the superior room are even bigger :) Hope to having you stay with us again...

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighbourhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighbourhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (21:00), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
