When we walked up to the hotel, at first, we were a bit unsure. It certainly didn't look promising, but when we got inside, everything was good. The staff were friendly. It's clearly an independent hotel, and you'll get the cute little Italian feel of it when overlooking a courtyard. The owner/manager was really nice at breakfast (free), and took...

This worked fine for my purposes. The room was quiet, the air conditioner impressively quick, and the hotel was located close to transport and other things I wanted. The breakfast was meager, but sufficient for my purposes (I've been to hostels with better fare, but nothing was bad; just cheap). The least appealing thing was the shower - tiny and...

This was an awesome hotel, the money paid. It was close to a tram station, close to Termini Station as well as a grocery store and good restaurants. I would stay here again and recommend to others. The breakfast was pretty good. The room had a private bath and a nice air condition. The staff was excellent and they were...

I gave it a four star mainly for the cheap price including breakfast, which is very good for the area. We stayed there for one night only due to a last minute cancellation of another booking. The hotel and room is quite good for the price we payed. I think if you are on the budget and just need a...

Well, surely it is not Hilton though is was really cheap and clean. We had rather good breakfast, the owner (?) was helpful. Rooms were surprisingly clean as for italian standards. It is close to the subway station (around 2-3 min walk).

Good three star hotel well located in Rome. Walking distance to attractions and real close to subway. Great affordable restaurants nearby. Neighbourhood is okay and safe. Some of the area around the Termini train station was a little rough but had no problems and this property is several blocks away from Termini. Not a touristy section of town so seemed...

The staff were all friendly and very helpful. The room was generous in size, basic, but fine for what we needed. The breakfast was nice with breads, croissants (spreads, meat, cheese), yogurt, juice, coffee and cereal available. We found the location great, 15 min walk to colosseum and closest metro station was barely a 5 min walk. The area felt...

All of the staff members were very friendly and helpful. The location is easily reachable as it is close to Termini station. We took the Leonardo Express from Fiumicino Airport and walked just 20 minutes from Termini to the hotel. And the hotel is on walking distance of the Manzoni subway station. Line A quickly took us to several important...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
