Simliar to another 'hotel' nearby in that this is a series of rooms with little to no security or facilities manifesting itself as a hotel. We arrived late at night and paid in full, however, the receptionist didn't have any change at the time. He promised to give us this the next morning- needless to say, I am still waiting...

I stayed in this Hotel Mari for a total of 2 nights. Overall the place was clean. But The staff had limited English and everything was chargeable. Wifi was €2 for 24hrs, €10 for A/C and €3 to leave your baggage there for the day once you had checked out. I was put into a room with 4 beds, I...

1. Only one of the receptionists speaks English. 2. Really bad breakfast. 3. We had a very bad experience in the middle of the night: The receptionist did not give us our key when we came back to the Hotel. He said that we had not paid and wanted us to pay twice for the last night. We told him...

Don't ever stay here! Terrible staff with poor or none knowledge of english at all. The receptionist one night refused to give us our key, claiming we hadn't payed for our room (which was totally false) he then threatened to call the police when we argued against. Finally when his scam-attempt didn't work on us he offered us later "check...

We searched for a hotel near train station and attractions, The old man was very gentle, nice and helpful. His answers was always what you need> 3 main things I did not like during my stay during christmas time and from 28-12-2014 to 01-01-2015; The heating in the rooms was not okay; I had to wear more clothes while sleeping...

We stayed at this hotel for about a week with out schoolclass. The Rooms were clean but after we got home half of the class had bedbuggs.... So that sucks pretty hard. Breakfast was bad also. On the plus side the staff was really nice and helpful. The location was almost perfect.

I looked for a cheap hotel that was within walking distance of the main attractions and facilities in Rome, and that's what I got. Dragging suitcases up to the room was ... a drag! But we only had to do it once. The room had an excellent shower and comfortable beds, with plenty of furniture and circulation space (for 2...

The hotel is 5 minutes walk from Termini station, 75€ for a night is ok for Rome, small nice room, some easy breakfast, shower, hot water, helpful staff. There was a fridge but it didn't worked. And there are some shops nearby to buy cheap bear)

It was a great trip and a nice accomodation. Perfect for being around in Rome all the time and have a quiet room at the end of a little street in a very living City. The room was simple but clean, the bathroom with the shower too! The breakfast was typical mediterranian simple but yummie and enough. The staff made...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

“Very tall rooms, so pay more for a lower floor, if walking up four flights (8 with the bends) at the end of a day's sightseeing is a big problem for you.”
  • The room had a wire grill; to protect the locals from guests chucking stuff out, I think.
