Really sweet hostel. Most rooms are 3-4 single beds (no bunks), very clean bathroom and toilets. Lots of power points. Free breakfast (pastries, cereal, musli and fruit), they had a pasta night on which was a great way to meet other guests. Lovely staff. Supermarket next street over. Very close to Termini station (5min walk). Easy to find using the...

This is a great, quaint hostel. There's two sections of rooms, the main one and across the hall. I was in the main section so I had easy access to the kitchen area for breakfast. The staff are all friendly and helpful and the morning receptionist kindly printed out a travel card document for me upon arrival. Everything is clean,...

It was really comfortable. Nice staff and the best location. Just 5 minutes walking from Roma Termini. I strongly recommend this place for women of any age. It's on the first floor, but it isn't hard to get.

I stayed at Hostella for a week, I chose it as it's female only and it was my first time traveling alone. It was the best decision I made. I felt very at home here, the staff were lovely, it was cleaner than some expensive hotels I've been to and there was just a nice, relaxed atmosphere. Daniel checked me...

I spent a week in a shared room. I found the hostella to be in a great location, as it was close to a couple metro stops (and I didn't really want to go to the Termini station every time I wanted to take the metro). I also found some great restaurants within walking distance. While the area around the...

Hostella is perfectly located near Roma Termini and many tourist spots can be reached by foot. Although the entrance can be obscure as they have no big sign, the hostel itself is spacious. I was greeted by Daniel, the owner, and he was so friendly and helpful to suggest the interesting places to see, including the supermarket and the amazing...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
