Looking for an option when traveling with a small group - this is the place for you. Rooms are large and clean. We had an apartment which slept 6 adults, with kitchen and bathroom. (Which also happened to be where my sons lived for 6 months when studying in Italy) Location is in between S. Peter's Square and the museum....

This apartment was perfect for our stay. We had one of the larger rooms that looked out onto the street. We woke up in the morning and looked out the window to see the hustle and bustle of Rome. The room was clean well kept. I loved the location. It was just steps from the Vatican so it allowed us...

Great location, I believe among the closest places to stay near S.Peter square. Rooms very clean and nice furniture. The closest nice restaurant is called Arlù. In front of the entrance there is a very old bakery to taste the real "maritozzo" a sweet bread and other kinds of bread at a ridiculous price. Don't forget to have breakfast at...

We loved our four night stay in Borgo Pio 91! On arrival they talked us through the map of Rome and recommended a few restaurants - we tried...

The location is perfect for a tourist - 3 min to Vatican. Had a large and cosy room on the top floor with a balcony. The room was clean with a spacious modern bathroom. The staff is amazing and very helpful; gave me some very handy recommendations about the places to visit and 'non-touristic' restaurants with the best Italian food.

Staff excellent..........cleanliness, excellent. ............location, excellent..............value, excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay but wouldn't go as far as some where it states 'fabulous' apartments. They are very, very nice for sure but I feel the line is drawn at less than 'fabulous'. A toilet too small where you can't sit down and close the door, and bump your head on a...

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighbourhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighbourhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighbourhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
