Stayed here for 3 nights and had a good experience. Demetra Hotel is a new boutique hotel in Rome close to the Roma Termini station. Firstly, the hotel was a little hard to find at first as the signage is not very big. It is directly opposite to the Hotel Columbia and you can either take the elevator or stairs...

Stayed here for 2 days. We had mobility issues so we got a scooter. The hotel has about 20 steps to the entrance which was a nightmare no wheelchair access which is very strange. The hotel staff where very nice helped as much as possible with the scooter. It's not very well marked we looked around for the hotel it's...

This hotel is beautiful and modern, exceptionally clean with very helpful friendly staff. The breakfast was very good with a good selection and great coffee!!! The location is perfect vey central and in walking distant of many historical landmarks and for those that aren't the tube station is a stones throw away. There is a couple of negatives tho, it...

Demetra Hotel is really nice and clean. Small but very comfortable rooms with tub and fridge. It's just a few metres to Stazione Termini, the Metro, Piazza della Repubblica and to Via Nazionale. By bus you can be at the Vatican in nearly 20 minutes. Breakfast is very good with everything you wish for Breakfast.

Great modern hotel, friendly staff, within easy walking distance of the termini. Rooms were up to date and very clean. The breakfast was plentiful and varied. Would defiantly use this hotel again. Plus the local restaurants were good value for the money.

Do not stay here if you value your sleep, the beds are ROCK hard. The rooms, are clean. it would be pretty hard for them not to be considering they are the size of match box!. if you are claustrophobic do not stay here, the rooms have tiny windows, with no views, and rooms are dark. The air con would...

Really pleased with our choice. Clean, modern and well located. Easy (5 minutes) walking distance to main (Termini) station and Metro. 20-30 minute walk to the main (much more crowded) tourist area. About the same to the Colosseum/Forum etc and minutes from the metro that will take you to the Vatican (or 45 minutes to an hour walk if you...

We stayed at Hotel Demetra the last two nights of our vacation and wanted to be close to the train station. This hotel fit the bill. Hotel Demetra was clearly newly redone or brand new. We were assigned a corner room and were pleasantly surprised at the "coolness" of the color changing LED lighting in the rain-shower. The bathroom was...

We stayed here for three nights in Rome. The location is a bit outside of the main tourist areas, but, it was five minutes walk from Termini Station and another 5 minutes to Republica metro station so it served as pretty good base for exploring the city. The room was small but clean and modern. Wi-fi (typical of all European...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
