Location was excellent, the staff was very friendly, too. Got a great room, with private shower and toilet, everything was spotless, even the halls were incredibly clean. For the price of 70 euros for 2 nights in summer IN ROME, I am very impressed. I have stayed in much more expensive hotels in Paris, who were far from being as...

To start with the very few positives... The staff were very friendly and the location was excellent for the main train station - Roma Termini (10 mins walk) and metro stations Termini and Vittorio Emanuele (5 minutes walk). In order to find the hostel you just need to pay attention to the address and street numbers then buzz the appropriately...

Stayed in a three person room. I was alone for the first two nights of my stay. Check in was fine. There are maps and books you can borrow to help with your adventure. Thanks goodness for the elevator. Right! Don't get this place confused with Hostel Beautiful 2 (II). They are really close to one another So happy that...

I'll start with the positive aspects, because there were some. The location was good - right by the main Termini station, but down a side road, so fairly quiet but still very convenient for getting around the city. The breakfast arrangement was good too - although the hostel itself doesn't have facilities for breakfast, for 2 euros you can get...

Awful place, dirty with prostitution spots close. Furthermore, the neighborhood smells urine. I changed my hotel and they did not return my money because I didn´t want to stay there. Definitely not a good place to stay. You can get another better paying 5 euros more per day. In addition, other city hotels charge 3 euros per day for the...

Pontos positivos (+): Próximo à estação principal. Bom preço. Limpeza diária. Pontos Negativos (-): Longe de todos os pontos turísticos. Região perigosa à noite. Não oferece café-da-manhã. Wifi não funciona bem. Banheiros e quartos velhos. Positive points (+): Next to the main station. Good price. Daily cleaning. Negative Points (-): Far from all the tourist places. Dangerous area at night....

I stayed in Hostel Beautiful with three friends, in a four room dorm. The hostel was located close to Termini, which is the only top of the hostel. The hostel itself was old, filthy and not well-maintained. It was not safe, as the main entrance was open and everyone could walk in without being seen by front office staff. Our...

The location was close to the central train station. This was the only thing about it (that is if you don't mind a dodgy looking area). Now for the bad: The lights in the hall work. There are no locking lockers in the room. No toilet paper or soap in the bathroom. Broken showers and toilets. There is no hot...

This hostel is all about emergencies, low-cost and a place to sleep. The staff was nice but the room was cold, smelling like cigarettes (probably other guests were smoking, but the blankets and sheets were also kind of smelly) and the private shower wasn't working, so I had to use the shared bathroom, but the water was hot and the...

Stay was above expectations. We were upgraded to a room on our own on arrival. They were helpful when we didn't know where to go. Bathrooms were difficult as lights don't work, and slightly dirty. WIFI was sketchy in your room, but in the communal areas it was fine. When leaving the restaurant to the left and over two blocks...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
