Stayed here for two nights with my mother before we went out of Rome on a Mediterranean cruise. We wanted to stay somewhere near the main train station (Termini) as that was how we would be travelling to the port, and we were not disappointed! Very close to train station which was incredibly handy. We also envisioned travelling from the...

Our room was small, but clean and had everything we needed. The reception desk was very helpful. The hotel is very close to the metro. Breakfast was mostly meats, cheeses and pastries, but it's free! We would definitely stay again.

The hotel has a great location, a short walking distance from Termini station which takes you anywhere you want. Rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are well equipped. Cleanliness is very good overall. Breakfast choices are a bit limited and the area is tiny, as it gets really crowded and you can barely move around or talk. Reception team was...

We stayed at this hotel and found the staff to be the most helpful people both while there and after we left. Left an item at the hotel and they went out of their way to return it to me in Australia. While staying at the hotel they directed us to locations as needed. We arrived very late at night...

This is a simple, but well located hotel. The service is great, as well as the breakfest. The room is small but confortable. The only thing i did not like was the bathroom. There is no shower, just a tube. For me, it is really a bad thing.

Stayed one night in Rome before we head to Florence. I chose this hotel because it is close to the train station. The hotel itself is close to lots of tourist spots. It is clean, very small room, and the shower is very small. If you're a bigger person, you may not fit in the shower. I literally have to...

We have just returned from our trip to Rome, having spent 3 nights at the Windrose Hotel. This hotel was perfect for us. Great location near Termini station and about 15/20 minute walk from the Trevi Fountain and nearby sites. If you have time also check out the nearby Santa Maria della Concezione (Via Veneto 27). It's open 9am-7pm and...

This hotel is in walking distance from the Termini station that is why we chose it. The hotel is clean and the receptionist was friendly. That is the good part. The room and bathroom is very small. Quite cramped for a family of three. The bed would have to be the worst I have ever slept in. It is very...

For a last minute booking, we did well. Hotel is fairly central and rooms are clean. Rome is clearly not a cheap city and the previous week we stayed in London for one night. The Windrose was far superior, cheaper and a much better experience. See below for 'bathroom' advice. The reception staff were absolutely wonderful, especially LIVIA and PAOLO....

We stayed in this hotel one night prior to leaving on a cruise. The hotel was recommended by our travel agent and the trip adviser reviews were acceptable. The hotel is a few blocks from the train stain. We walked over the cobble stone streets and we actually felt safer on the streets than in the train station! There is...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
