The room, which I shared with others, was clean and tidy. Bed was OK. I travelled out of season, so the hostel was not full, and it was OK sharing the bath and toilet with others. The area next to the railway station is as central as you can wish for; but the people loitering there are of a sort... More

Worst hostel I've ever stayed in. Slept for about 3 hours in total between 2 nights due a very noisy woman sleeping next to me AND BECAUSE OF BEING BADLY BITTEN BY BED BUGS, even on my eyelid. Definitely not worth the money I paid. No wifi where rooms are either only on first floor at reception while all rooms... More

By far the worst hostel I stayed at whilst recently traveling around Europe. The reception desk was often closed during the times that it was supposed to be open, making checking in somewhat problematic. When I arrived at the hostel (at night but within the published checkin times) the reception was closed and I was forced to find another hostel.... More

I've been hosteling for years, and this is one of the worst I've visited. The customer service is terrible, the WiFi and air conditioning don't work as promised, the sheets and rooms are dirty, and YES, there actually are bed bugs! Lots of bed bugs. Seriously, find another place.

It was horrible. Absolutely THE worst hostel I've ever stayed in. The room: I am suffering the effects of being bitten by bed bugs! 26 bites in 2 nights of staying there. The room was damp, smells bad, has a dirty rug in the middle, the legs of my bed were not stable and every time i moved it creaked... More

Ok, this hostel is right in front termini what is nice, but if I could I wouldnt choose this hostel! The staff is not bad, but the guy said some jokes that really make me fell unconfortable. The room was 4 beds and only 3 plugs to charge the batteries what was a problem, the room didnt lock the door,... More

The perks of this hostel include the terravision bus from the airport literally dropping you off in front of, easy to find from train station, and the price. Also, they helped with maps and navigating the city. You can find a better hostel, but if your purely looking for location accessibility I'd stay here. The bathroom was quite messy, and... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
