We stayed one night in May and thought this was a delightful boutique hotel in a very good position the staff were pleasant and although we were not able to get into our rooms until quite late they did look after our luggage for us. We returned to the hotel 2 weeks later for our last night in Rome before... More

We stayed at hotel Stendhal during the first week of June. Overall the experience was nice, the staff is very friendly and likes to help, the location is great, the room was clean. The only negative comment I have is the price. We payed around $500 US for night which seemed to me too expensive for what we got. For... More

I think Stendahl is best suited for people who are visiting Rome for the first time as it is ideally situated near a Metro station, the Trevi Fountain & the Spanish Steps. However, for repeat visitors, I would recommend a different area in Rome to stay as Stendahl's location is very busy and can get quite loud when all the... More

We stayed there for 2 nights after having a terrible experience in another Rome hotel. After such a lousy stay, Stendhal felt like heaven. To begin with, the location is top and although Via del Tritone is a busy street we heard no noise. The room itself wasnt that big yet big enough, the bathroom was great but unfortunately no... The Hotel Stendhal was a great place to stay! We stayed for 5 nights and enjoyed everything about the hotel. Very clean and located in the perfect location...walking distance to everything. The breakfast served every morning was a great way to start the day. We'll stay here again on our next visit.

Stayed at the Hotel Stendhal 5 nights. Good location only 10-15 minutes from the Spanish Steps/shopping/restaurants. The rooms are quite small, but I understand that this the norm in Rome. They are updated and well decorated, with everything but robes. The hotel is small, with only 4-5 small rooms on each floor. The lobby, kitchen, elevator bank and breakfast area/bar... More

I liked this hotel for it's location. At 278.00 euros a night it is much more affordable than the hotels on the Via Veneto. The rooms are a little small but it's been updated. The breakfast is included and is decent. The staff is nothing special, just doing their jobs. Though I would stay away from their restaurant recommendation. The... More

After reading so many reviews from tripadvisor about hotels in Rome, we decided to choose this one. When we arrived at the hotel the front desk personnel was really friendly and helpful ;-) the hotel personnel was very sorry that we had to stay 1 night at another hotel. They upgraded our room and sent a bottle of champagne for... More

This was a well-located hotel, cute decor, staff was friendly, and it suited my purposes. However, my room had a funny smell to it (perhaps a lot of stale cigarette smoke), and the window faced an inner alley-way, so I could not get fresh air in the room. The carpet looked like it could be replaced, and the breakfast left... More

Staying in Colonna

Neighbourhood Profile
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very centre of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping centre, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
