Poor quality, just poor quality. Don't trust the fotos! Freezer and Television are available, but not working. It seems to be clean, but I wouldn't guarantie it. The ceiling was covered with mold. The heater was from the 60ties and probably to weak from temperatures below 5 degrees.

We chose this hotel as it looked different from the city-centre chains. It was quite simple, no frills with typical Italian style bedroom and bathroom. The breakfast room and terrace was very special, with views towards St John Lateran Basilica and the city. Well worth going up to the top in the evening. Breakfast was basic and the only meal... My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights and we found it very odd, not like a hotel and very old decor. On arrival it looks amazing and staff friendly, but we walked through a building site got to our room on the 4th floor and it was like a hostel, old school beds, blue and green decor, no... More

Stayed in the hotel for 2 nights with my wife and her 2 girlfriends here. Yup! Lucky me hehehe! What can I say? Don't expect a 5 star hotel if you're paying for a 2 star hotel. Although I'd say it's a 3🌟. Once you get there you'll see a church💒, and on the right side is a big door... More

Beautiful bathrooms (newly decorated?). Powerful shower. Good central location with fantastic transport links throughout Rome. 24hr concierge who speak good english and are very helpful. Brilliant bar/bakery/cafe across the street where you can get delicious sandwiches for a packed lunch very reasonably. Best bit was the breakfast...situated on the glassed-in roof terrace...you can enjoy beautiful sunrises with delicious coffee (seems... More

Really excited about this break, photos look great, sadly not the case, holes in walls, wires loose construction happening throughout the place, no wifi, there is a vending machine but that's it, water or poor coffee. We had a supposed deluxe room ? Seems grubby bed rock hard, old style tv and poor furniture, building looks fantastic but all goes... More

Stayed here for 3 nights last week . So disappointed with hotel. Room dirty, bathroom disgusting . Complained but nothing done. Wifi only in reception and roof top balcony had 1 table and chairs. No facility to buy a coffee or tea and no licence to have a glass of wine in the rooftop balcony should you even consider it.

Close to sights, tram right outside with access to both Colosseum and Trastevere (3 + 8), Terminus (5 + 14). Nice neighborhood, not touristy. Breakfast terrace with a great view over Rome, good coffee, real juice, cereal, yoghurt and fruit + pastry and cake. The place is spectacular with historic feel, 6 m high domed ceilings in the rooms, comfortable... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
