The hotel has an elegant feel and we found it calm and peaceful. Staff were welcoming and helpful. We booked a premier room which was spacious and comfortable and had everything we needed (but if you need complete darkness my advice would be to bring an eye mask as there were no blackout curtains). Windows could be opened and the air conditioning was effective. On arrival we were greeted with complimentary bottle of prosecco, which was a lovely touch. Breakfasts on the rooftop terrace were a delight. We chose this hotel primarily for proximity to the Parco Archaeologico del Colosseo. It is on a quiet street but just a few minutes away from the Colosseum, with plenty of places to eat and a small supermarket nearby. It is also close to metro, bus and tram stops and within walking distance of the main places to visit in the city centre, so very conveniently situated. Prior to our visit my partner had emailed the hotel and happened to mention that it was my birthday during our stay, and on the day another complimentary bottle of prosecco duly arrived, which was very kind. Overall this hotel did not just meet, but exceeded our hopes and expectations, and was a great choice for us.

Hotel was ideally situated for exploring the city of Rome, within easy walking dis range of the main sites. The rooms were luxurious and maintained to a high standard, the beds extremely comfortable. The staff were all extremely helpful and informative. The breakfast offers a large selection of foods and was idyllic situated on the roof top with views of the Colosseum. There are many restaurants situated around the hotel but the food in the hotel’s restaurant was excellent, it was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented again on the roof terrace, it was definitely the best meal we had in Rome. Thoroughly recommend to stay whether you are a family, couple or on business.

Great hotel. Very comfortable beds and the rooms were well appointed. Catia at the front desk was extremely helpful with restaurant recommendations and other tips. We only stayed one night, but everything was perfect. The breakfast buffet had a fine variety.

Just back from a 3 night stay at this beautiful hotel in Rome. We had great rooms on the ground floor. Our rooms were at the end of a small hallway and had lockable outer doors, transforming them into a 2 room suite. This was perfect for our family of 5! The rooms were a good size and nicely decorated. The hotel staff were polite and very helpful with everything. Thanks to Lusiana, who checked us in and gave us loads of helpful information about Rome. The breakfast room on the 4th floor has a view of the Colosseum and a lovely selection of hot and cold breakfast items and friendly staff. The hotel is also lovely and quiet and in a quiet area. Just bear in mind that although it's very close to the Colosseum, every other attraction is a 30-40min walk and the Vatican an hours walk. However, as long as you go knowing this, I would highly recommend staying at this great hotel.

Loved staying here. Rooms are cosy, but what really made the stay were the staff. Very attentive and helpful. They made our night here just perfect. Close to the central sights and bars and cafes. We didn’t have food here so can’t comment. Enjoyed our stay. Thank you for all your help

We enjoyed this hotel for two nights whilst site seeing. its a great location for visiting the colosseum. Nice large clean rooms and the cocktails in the foyer were very tasty. Just down the road was a restaurant called Trattoria Luzzi which we came across. it had a queue so we decided to join it and it was a good find.

I stayed at the Capo d'Africa twice on my recent trip to Italy. The positive Tripadvisor reviews and hotel website are accurate regarding such key factors as comfort, cleanliness, security, and amenities. Excellent, friendly customer service (shout out to Luisiana at the front desk!). Location: The hotel is located on a quiet street in a residential neighborhood about 1/4 mile from the Colosseum and Forum. You can see the Colosseum from the roof of the hotel and from the streets around the hotel. Restaurants/Shops: There are several mid-range restaurants, trattoria, and coffee bars within a 1-2 block radius of the hotel. A 24-hour Carrefour Express market is nearby (on the way to the Colosseum, as it happens). History: If you are interested in early Christian or early Medieval history, San Clemente (initially a house church dating to the 300s with a crypt and Mithraeum, one of the oldest parishes in Christendom) and Quattro Coronati (a rare fort-church dating to the 800s) are located within just 100s of feet of the hotel. They are open to the public but not at all tourist-y (free admission) and worth checking out.
