My husband and I stayed in the apartment for our honeymoon for 12 nights, and were so pleased with everything there. Marzia not only provided maps and information on the nearest supermarket, bus and tram stops, and other local amenities; she also provided us with tickets for the local tour bus (which sadly we did not have time to use),...

This is a fantastic little apartment in a very ideal location - we stayed four nights. Trastevere is such a cute neighborhood and we were able to walk to just about every monument and site we wanted to reach. We most enjoyed the restaurants in our little neighborhood, though. Marzia's communication was great prior to our stay, and she met...

Myself and a friend travelled to Italy to celebrate my 30th birthday. I didn't want to stop in a hotel, I wanted something really authentic, and we got just that. The apartment (Casa Marzia, Villa Della Cisterna) is in an excellent location with most attractions within walking distance. Mazia was an excellent host and fully attentive and patient if we...

We were delighted with our 5-day stay at Via della Cisterna 22, apt 10, 28 Sept - 3 Oct. The grand old building is beautiful, beautifully kept, the doorman was helpful, and Marzia was a wonderful source of advice for restaurants and services in the area as well as which buses to take to reach the main sights of Rome....

I think we may have been the first people to book this apartment through Marzia. We had wanted to book Casa Marzia after reading such great reviews about it and about Marzia herself, but it was already let out so Marzia suggested Ai Banchi. We weren't disappointed with the apartment or the great service given to us by Marzia. Ai...

This was the first time we've stayed in an apartment and it may have spoilt us for our next choice. Everything was lovely - a warm welcome from Marcia, with helpful maps and guides to make the most of our stay in our comfy apartment in the heart of Trastevere - it felt like a home from home. As well...

Styed here for the second time and were just as satisfied with the apartment and the location this time. We stayed for two nights. Marzia, the owner, also helped us with booking dinner at a very good fish restaurant and gave us other valuable advises. The apartment is situated in a very nice part of Rome and Trastevere. It is...

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
