My girlfriend and I arrived here for the duration of the Christmas week planning to stay for the holidays. The reception area was not too bad and walking from termini didn't take that long either. We were greeted by a lady who was friendly enough and checked into our first room which was a double bed with shared bathroom. The...

Paid around 110 eur for a 3bed private room. The host is a very helpful bloke. There are food options to eat nearby. Remember to carry some cash along as they don't accept cards in most small shops around the hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone on a budget.

First , his hotel is very close to Termini Station. If you are looking for location this is it. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are clean and big with basic decor. The only thing is the bathroom. Although is renovated and new , the shower is so small, that normal people barely fit inside but at least it...

This is our hotel in Rome. We have stayed here multiple times since 2010. Papa's is a two star that has all the things that meet our needs. It is secure with 3 keys needed at night to get through the outside door to your room. The room has a safe for valuables. It is located about 5 blocks from...

Nice and inexpensive hotel/hostel close to Termini. Lots of good food and shops around. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The only downside is the surrounding area can be quite noisy if you like to sleep with a window open. The breakfast is so so

I had an unopened bottle of wine in my room and they took it while I was gone for the day... All staff were grumpy and everything was a nuance for them. Breakfast is alright eggs, old fruit, super sweet yogurt and acceptable cereal. When we had an early morning booked they refused to let us take any breakfast to...

My family and I stayed for a couple of nights while in Rome. The room and bathroom are small but clean. The staff was good and friendly. There is no elevator so be prepared to haul your luggage up a few flights of stairs. The typical European continental breakfast was served in the morning. It's a convenient short walk from...

Nice place between termini and republic plaza so easy to get around. Surprisingly good food around and there is a daily Street market on the next street. Stayed in a double room and the bed is actually two separate beds put together so a bit weird. Seems to be similar in other Italian places though.

Great price for a very quiet hotel room. Room had everything you need and included towels. Easy walk from termini and lots of restaurants and markets nearby to load up on goods. Definitely would stay again.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
