This was the most depressing and yet overpriced hotel I've stayed in any where in Europe (or Africa or Asia) for that matter. It was dingy, dirty, uncomfortable, cramped, And noisy. The beds were like cardboard, the rooms were not just plain, but grubby, and the staff unhelpful. The price was only 9 euros less than am excellent 4 star...

This hotel was very clean and was located in a great location in the Pantheon area of Rome. Very accessible restaurants and wonderful little boutique shopping, near the nightlife of the Pantheon. Fabulous location. The hotel rooms however are overly small, very dark. Wi-fi is charged there per device, which is terribly goofy and ridiculous. Why not charge three euros...

Three of us spent one night at Smeraldo Hotel Rome. We were pleased with the room . It was a small room but we were in Rome! The location was great for what we wanted to see. The staff was very polite and accommodating. The breakfast was very generous with a lot of variety. We used the airport pickup service...

The location of this hotel is wonderful and the staff most helpful. Our room was just as it looked on the internet. There were wonderful places to eat and outdoor markets just around the corner. We were close to almost all the major sites and when we needed directions or transportation the staff helped with everything. On the day of...

Fabulous, fabulous location, easy walk to everywhere. Small clean room and bathroom more than offset by the location. Very functional and a very good price. Great staff. Great wifi Internet included. Only issue I had was the hotel did not have one clothes iron!!

The hotel was recommended to us by friends who had stayed there previously. Rooms in Rome can be very expensive & the Smeraldo is a reasonable price for Rome and the location is excellent. The staff was very helpful. We arrived with a good case of jet lag and they were very helpful and patient. The hotel arranged pick up...

This hotel is in a great location to walk to all the many sights of Rome. In three days, we walked to the Vatican(longest, maybe 25 min) to Spanish Steps, Colosseum, Trastevere Piazza Navona, Campo di Fiori(very close)and points in between. The rooms are very clean, compact and the bathroom beautiful but tiny shower. We found the staff to be...

The Smeraldo hotel is located in our favorite section of Rome near our favorite restaurants. It's not showy, fancy, luxurious or even pretty. But, damn they are priced right, and smack in the middle of the best part of Rome (in our opinion). The breakfast is forgettable, so forget it. Go out and explore your part of town for morning...

Stayed here 2 years ago same time and was just as good this time. Great location in old Rome, friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, comfortable bed, decent breakfast, 2 nice rooftop areas. All at a good rate.

Loved the location. All the important sight (other than the Vatican) were walking distance. My husband & I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. When we return to Rome, this will be the first place we would consider staying at.
