Classic Roman hotel located a block away from the central train station. Walking distance to Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Pantheon and more. Very friendly and helpful staff with excellent English speaking skills. Clean, well appointed rooms and typical Italian breakfast. The staff helped with laying out a walking tour and calling taxis when needed.

Because of the great location, friendly staff, and delicious breakfast offered, this is our first choice when staying in Rome. This was our 3rd stay at Hotel Columbia, and they do not disappoint. If we came to Rome every year for the rest of our lives, we would choose Hotel Columbia.

We stayed here with our elderly mother for three nights. Every member of staff could not have been more welcoming and friendly. Receptionist staff gave excellent advise regarding restaurants. The lady that made us wonderful fresh 'cafe latte' at breakfast time was so sweet and kind - nothing was toomuch trouble. Breakfast variety more than adequate, fresh coffee served &...

We arrived at the hotel first thing in the morning after a very long flight from Australia. We were pleasantly surprised when Daniel, the receptionist wad able to provide us with a room straight away so we were able to grab a few hours quality rest before we started exploring Rome. The hotel is very clean, our room/bathroom was compact....

The staff was very nice and helpful. The hotel located very close to the central station. The rooms are smaller then they look in the picture. Good breakfast. In my opinion a little over priced. One elevator sometimes we wanted a long time so we walked by foot 3 floors

Great front-desk service, cozy room and lovely breakfast place. We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Good traffic site, security and convenient for night restaurant. We had some customerlizIied needs and they always satisfied them as soon as possible. I really appreciation their sweet service and feel comfortable in Italy. I will remember their smiles forever in ROMA.

In an excellent location, a few minutes walk from the station yet quiet with good restaurants nearby. The highlight for me was the roof terrace on the same level as the breakfast room. (In hotels this size, breakfast is often in the artificially-lit basement.) There is a good selection at the breakfast buffet while the coffee, freshly prepared, is excellent....

We are a family of two adults and two teenagers staying four nights in Rome. All had a good time in this hotel - small enough to get personal, friendly staff, a superb Roman roof terrace to enjoy breakfast and relax with some reading and a coffee later in the day. Rooms were clean and nice. Located in a street...

We stayed here as my husband was doing the Rome Marathon and it was also our Ruby Wedding Anniversary. From the moment we arrived we were thoroughly impressed. Wonderful warm welcome from Verena who told us we had been given a room upgrade. Our room was fabulous with its own little outside terrace. Breakfast on the roof terrace was great with...

Quite a good hotel, we were a little surprised to be honest. Not sure what to expect when booking online, we got a good room, nice and quiet. Bit stuffy which seems normal for European rooms this time of year, got a fan which did the trick. Friendly staff, good central location with quality restaurants nearby.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
