The hotel is centrally located. Within walking distance of a number of historical places. We felt very safe walking on the streets. Recently renovated, our room was clean, up to date and had a certain freshness about it. The room was wallpapered in a dark green matting and was a touch ornate but, hey, we were renting the room not...

Stayed at the Hotel Virgilio for 3 nights in August, we were very happy with this hotel, room was a good size but a little bit dark as we overlooked the back of the hotel but very quiet. Breakfast was ok, small breakfast room but we went down at about 9 and never had trouble getting a table. We walked...

We booked this hotel after reading several quite good reviews on Trip Advisor. It makes me wonder if someone connected with the hotel is writing the positive reviews--it was awful. First, they had us pay for three days in advance. We have stayed in hotels all over Europe and have never been asked to do this. Perhaps they have had...

Just back from Rome where we stayed for 3 nights at the Hotel Virgilio. It is a nice hotel and the staff was really helpful and friendly. We stayed in a small room on the first night and were moved to a bigger, newer room for the next 2 nights. The hotel is located within walking distance of all of...

We stayed at this hotel for my wife's birthday, for a weekend (Sat/Sun/Mon) and would recomend it to anyone. The Hotel is set in a back street, but do not let this put you off, because it is quieter than staying on the main road. The location is great, we walked everywhere, the staff friendly, courteous, the breakfast normal fayre....

We travelled as a large group to Rome in June 06. We required 3 rooms on 3 separate visits as we used Rome as our base. We were travelling with children as well. The hotel is in a perfect location just off the Via de Nazionale, walking distance to almost everywhere. The only place we required transport to was the...

The next 2 nights we were upgraded to a beautiful rooms, big bed, with big bathrooms it was great. When I booked the rooms I booked the larger...

We really liked Hotel Virgillio. It's within walking distance to everything...except The Vatican...take a cab. The breakfast was mediocre but good enough for us....cereal and bread. The staff was very friendly except for the red headed lady....she gets really angry when you don't leave your key when you leave the hotel. If you are taking anything that needs to be...

We loved this hotel. It was easily found from the Termini and I loved the decor. Smaller than I expected but this was the only let-down, although breakfast was not overly impressive. Other than that, I loved it - it was close to everything(you really could not actually hand pick a better place for staying in Rome, really) and very clean....
