Don't be fooled by the marble staircase and foyer, this hotel is anything but luxurious. This was the only hotel on our 5 week Europe trip that asked for payment upfront, and it didn't take long to see why. Tiny room (even for Europe), carpet not vacuumed, stains on bedspread, wardrobe doors didn't close properly, the wallpaper is peeling off...

Unfriendly staff, not helpful at all,no light in one of the bathrooms(was not fixed during the stay),walls in need of a coat of paint,no hot water the first day, then no heating during the night(in December!!!). Do not book a taxi for airport transfer through the hotel:we did,but the driver was NOT at the airport! Only good thing:location, but I assume there other...

First of all avoid booking triple rooms in this hotel. I booked a triple room, when we arrived it was a twin room with an extra bed thrown in. needless to say there was hardly any space to move around. The staff were extremely polite and helpful, the room was fairly clean, the beds were made each day, towels were...

Clean and tidy hotel in a good location, close to all the sights. Very good continental breakfast that was plentiful, lots of choice and all fresh (the baker delivers every morning). We walked pretty much everywhere except to St. Peter's as that was a bit too far. However we were able to get a sightseeing trip from close by the...

After reading some of the other reviews I was a little bit dubious about staying here - however we needn't have worried at all the hotel was fine, our room was spacious & very clean and had nice hot shower which was the main concern after reading what other people had written!! Hotel itself is in a great location only...

Booked into Virgilio for 6 nights in April 09. Start worrying when you are asked to pay full amount up front... Desk staff / managers couldn't care less about you or your hotel experience. Cleaners are very friendly and the sole member of staff (young girl from Romania) who is a gem and is run off her feet is at...

we got good rates for this hotel and picked it because it is centrally located. it is with a walking distance to many Rome attractions. the room is quite small, very small tv, but nice bathroom. Breakfast is quite boring (same things every morning), but they make their own capuccino. Our last 2 nights of staying were a bit annoying....

If you enjoy sleeping on a box-spring like mattress, and don't mind the appearence of mold in your unsanitary shower, than this is the place for you. Not nearly the value and comfort that a "three star" should offer, we stayed here for; thank goodness only one night. Our room was delayed in being ready on time, and the elevator...
