Made a quick shopping trip together with a romantic weekend away just before Christmas and really could not have chosen a better hotel. The absolute maximum of luxury and service from beginning to end in the most exclusive part of Rome. Great find and a great stay!!
I recently made a last minute trip to Rome without a reservation and had heard about this hotel from a friend so I went there. First iof all, the women at the desk could not have been more welcoming and charming (this was on January 11 by the way). They had someone show me a room in a building a few doors down on the Via Condotti. I must say I was concerned about being in a building that was not attached to a hotel but this turned out not to be a concern in any way. The room was large, lovely and quiet with a very nice bathroom. The location is the best in Rome. I thoroughly enjoyed staying at the hotel and hope to return again soon!
We had booked this property almost a year prior to our stay (over Christmas break). As the date approached, I became nervous by a few recent negative reviews. Almost canceled- so GLAD we did not. Our stay was fabulous!! Prior to coming, the staff (Christiana was particularly helpful) was patient and detailed about answering my questions and accommodating (like ensuring washer in unit). A washer is a heaven sent when traveling for a prolonged time with children. The front desk was helpful and professional and honest. The bellhop helped us with our bags to our unit (arrived 1am in rain due to flight delays) which was around the corner from the main building. We did not get the breakfast package but honestly, there are so many yummy places to eat around there. We stayed in the 1bdroom apartment. It is in a different building. The apartments do NOT have a direct view of the Steps. They are however literally a minute from the Steps and minutes from the other major sites. We walked everywhere with ease. Also close to the taxi stand (for train station) and metro stop (for Vatican). The units are NOT The Four Seasons. They are older and that's part of the charm. They ARE clean, highly functional, super comfy and overall very charming. And we've stayed at very nice places so do have high expectations. :) A fantastic experience - hope to be back SOON!…
When I come to Rome I use to choose a different place where to stay. I like to explore this amazing city. This time I choosed for my family an apartment near the Spanish Steps. The apartment was clean, welcoming and well equipped. There was everything we needed: free wi-fi, bathroom, kitchen, on request they provide an iron. The ancient building is without an elevator but this was not a problem for us. The apartment is a part of The Inn At The Spanish Steps. The bellboy helped us with the luggage at our arrival and also at our departure. There was not an especial view from the apartment but the Spanish Steps are just two minutes distant from many interesting places. Oh, in the building where we had done the check-in (different from the building where is the apartment) there was a very nice roof terrace bar with a unique view. Suggestion: If the steps are a problem for you, choose some of their rooms, not an apartment. The rooms are situated in the buildings with elevators.…
We stayed at this fantastic hotel over Christmas and had the best time ever. Wonderful staff, service and value in a perfect location. We have already rebooked for next year. Highly recommended to everyone Who Is thinking of staying in Rome!!
The main positive: the location of the Inn at the Spanish Steps is ideal within eyesight of the Spanish Steps, shopping, Piazza del Popolo, Via del Corso, the Metro and much more. The rooms are average in terms of furnishings and decor. The breakfast is average. The value is average. The challenges: Service staff needs to be better trained, directed and invented. We returned from a day of sightseeing just before 4 pm to find out room not cleaned. It was cleaned at our request. Would I stay here again? Probably not. Would I recommend it to others? Probably not.
Excellent location during offseason, close to major shopping and restaurants. Service is excellent as well. We had a draining issue in the bath and were upgraded to a much larger room the next day. The breakfast is also good. We tried the restaurants that the staff recommended and they were all great. The hotel is a bit dated and in need of a refresh, but we were just there at night to sleep so it didn't matter. The service mattered more and more than made up for it. During busy times, the street on which the hotel is located can get very crowded given the location. And this was in November, so summer is probably much worse.
Let me qualify by saying that I never stayed here so I can't critique the property. However I had a very bad booking experienc. I tried to take advantage of the credit card promotion and get a statement credit. So I had split the reservation. 2 days on 1 booking and the following 1 day on another. I had read the conditions on the 2 day booking and it was cancellable and changable. I did not read the fine print in the one day reservation assuming it was the same ( my error) and it was not. This reservation was done well in advance. There was no reason to think I would not be able to cancel it. Nor was it a special room price. It was a full rate. I realized after I had made the booking that in order to take advantage of a credit card promotion, I had to reverse the bookings ( I had used 2 separate credit cards) so I immediately cancelled the bookings so that I could rearrange the reservations. I called up online booking service to explain what happened and that all I had wanted to do was restructure the same reservation and rebook it the other way. That it was not meant to be a cancellation on my part, clearly a mistake had been made on my part and that I had cancelled the booking minutes after I had made it. To make a long story short, The hotel was not willing to issue a credit , issue a waiver or listen to reason from the booking service . I would have gladly rebooked with them all 3 nights. So if you choose this hotel make absolutely sure you don't make a single error when you book because if you do they will hold you accountable even for an inoocent error that was caught minutes after making the booking. Given the opportunity they will take advantage of you and the fine print. Shame on you The Inn at the Spanish Steps…
We had a pleasant stay at The Inn at the Spanish Steps during our stay in November. We were upgraded to a Deluxe room upon check in. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The location is great with many restaurants around the corner.
Incredible location and view, Very clean and confortable room The service is outstanding, the whole team were very welcoming and very kind. Breakfast was very good as well. This is our second visit and we will be back again. We live in Italy and Rome is the most beautiful city.
