We stayed at the Diplomatic Hotel, Rome for a long weekend. Although the facilities are very basic this is an excellent hotel if you wish to see the sights of Rome. Its location couldn't have been better and both the Vatican and all the other...More
Stayed here with friends for a weekend shopping trip. About a 10 min walk to the smart shops but meant we were away from the noise and bustle which was welcome. The hotel was good value for Rome, although no proper lounge/bar area. The rooms...More

Just steps away from the chaos of the centre, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighbouring Borgo, Prati is a local favourite for its aesthetic organisation and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets,
quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.

Pretty certain the stop outside ends up at bus station in centre to transfer . Staff in hotel speak superb English and will advise as to best options - very friendly

Yes, There are air conditioners in the room, and they are VERY VERY efficient. I recommend you leave your room window open while you are out of the room touring the city or participating in activities. When you return to your room close the window and turn on the A/C. It will literally only take about 10 minutes to cool your room to a comfortable temperature. Otherwise, we found that it was almost too cool in the room. Enjoy your stay, this hotel is very nice and if you get up early enough the breakfast is very enjoyable. If you miss breakfast there's a very nice cafe right next door that has an excellent buffet for breakfast.
