My husband and I stayed in the Sofitel Villa Borghese for the 2nd time and would come back any time if our finance allows... The rooms are not huge, but we don't mind the size as long as all other things are OK. The bed (queen) was spacious and comfortable (my husband is almots 2m tall and we had so...

When looking for a place to stay in Rome, it's all about location. We visited Rome for 4 days and were able to visit all sites by foot or metro. Rooms are nice & clean. We enjoyed two spacious connecting rooms (no view though). There are a lot of restaurants around the corner, but do not forget to have lunch/dinner...

Spent 3 nights at the Sofitel in September of 2010, travelling with four girlfriends. Last time I was in Rome I stayed closer to the Forum and this time wanted to be closer to shopping and restaurants. Beside looking for location I also wanted a 5 star hotel (which I thought would at least guarantee that the hotel would be...

I stayed here for 3 days at a business meeting. I'd echo other reviews - the restaurant has great views, the table service is excellent and the food tasty (although there was rather too much at our set meals!). The bed was great, not too soft or hard, the room had a quality TV and a Bose iPod dock. The...

Moderately sized room. Great bathroom and bath amentities (Hermes). Excellent service and friendly staff. Catching cab from main strip not too problematic. Walking distance to metro, American Embassy, & lots of moderate to high priced restaurants/bars (including Harry's). No negatives to note about the hotel.

Hotel staff was very friendly especially by Rome standards. The hotel room was large, and the bed was very comfortable, again, especially considering Rome and European standards. The concierge was very helpful in booking all our dinner reservations, spoke much better English than I spoke Italian, and made the stay very pleasant. I'm going back to Rome in May and...

This hotel is located in the northeast part of Rome in a very quiet area. Everyhting is within walking distance yet is in an area not frequented by tourist. My dad, who's 58 with knee problems, was still able to walk to most places. The Spanish steps and Villa Borghese are especially close. The Hotel itself is nice but I...

My boyfriend and I decided to go to Rome for Valentines weekend and stayed here at the Sofitel. Firstly from the airport (Fiumincino) it is quite far out and I would NOT recommend taking the train and metro as we did which took 2 hours and a lot of effort...it is better to just take a shuttle for about 35...

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
