The final leg of our second trip to France and Italy was topped off by the excellence of the Rome Sofitel Hotel near the Gardens. A genuinely courteous, friendly and professional staff that provided impeccable service from the door man to the front desk to the turn down service. The room was incomparable, exquisitley appointed and very large by any...

I stayed at the Sofitel in Mid June with family- Room- I booked a Luxury room and it was fabulous! spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast was fabulous, the best breakfast I've had in my years of staying in hotels in Europe. Everything was fresh and mostly organic. However, 30 Euros per person is still very expensive. 20 Euros would be...

Albeit a bit expensive but worth the money. The hotel was beautiful, the rooms were gorgeous and classy. I am hard to please and have high standards and this hotel met my expectations. The location is ideal as the hotel is within a couple minutes walking distance from the spanish steps. Infact, I didn't have to take cabs and was...

The people at the Sofitel are so nice! As two women traveling alone we were put at ease by the kid glove care we received from the staff. We were also impressed by how well everyone spoke English, Italian, French and German. The staff seemed genuinely concerned that every need was met and every question was answered. Luigi always made...

The Sofitel Roma Villa Borghese hit the mark on nearly all accounts. We booked this hotel nearly six months in advance after a reasonable amount of research. As a result of the early booking, we got a pretty good rate compared to other similar hotels in the area. We were a bit worried it wouldn't be up to standard but...

We spent five nights at the Sofitel. The rooms were clean and comfortable, but a tad small. The room size was not terrible because we were hardly ever in our room and taking in the sights of Rome. The bed was very comfortable. The rooftop bar was very romantic at sunset and had lovely views. The hotel location was fantastic....

We just had the most delightful stay at the Sofitel Hotle in Rome. It certainly isn't the cheapest hotel you will find (and maybe breakfast is a bit overpriced) i thought it was a great balance of price and location...and this comes from someone whois continually being described as cheap by his wife. The hotel is only a few blocks...

We have just returned from a fabulous trip to Rome, Italy. We stayed at the Sofitel in Rome, our third Sofitel(Sofitel in Rio and Sofitel in Lisbon), by far the best so far. Great central location, beautiful hotel with top of the line staff, friendly, warm, and very professional and fluent in English, especially the front desk staff of Angelo,...

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
