I booked this hotel two years ago but only managed to visit over two years later. I had to rearrange several times due to covid and the hotel acted reasonably and honoured the payment I had made upfront. Over my four night stay I found the hotel to be very pleasant, with the rooms a good size and well kept. The decor might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I liked it and enjoyed their roof terrace and breakfast. As for location, I thought it was good and a reasonable 15/20 minute walk away from the forum and very near a central tram station. Easy to get to and from the airport and the city centre.
We had an excellent stay , the service at the hotel was excellent, all the staff were very friendly efficient and polite especially Keith who looked after us in the lovely roof top terrace bar . The location was perfect we will stay again
Mecenate Palace is my favorite place to stay in Rome. It is within walking distance of many sites; Santa Maria Maggiore and the Colosseum and 5 minutes walking to the main Train Station. The staff is professional and always very kind. The rooftop breakfast is perfect for starting the day and also for having an aperitivo. All the services that you might need are available.
Very clean, cozy and comfortable room. Great mattresses. We traveled with our two 13 years old twins and had asked in advance to have adjacent rooms. The hotel provided us with two rooms that had a small hall between them with a separate key to it, which allowed us to keep the doors of our two rooms open and gave our children some extra confidence. We had some worries as for the distance to main attractions, but found it as a non-significant issue. Furthermore, the proximity to the main train station that could lead to a noisy and a bit rundown area wasn't so altogether, on the contrary, the rooms were quiet and the area turned to be a residential area. On the downside we would mention the breakfast that was quite poor in its ingredients and variety. Having said that I would like to add that for those who love cakes for breakfast there was quite a variety of them, but my family and I are not of the sweet tooth part as for breakfast.…
As this was our second stay in 3 trips to rome for the scotland v italy rugby it shows that we were very happy with the hotel. Easily reached from airport by the train express stopping 2 streets or 5mins walk away. Friendly staff, clean rooms buffet breakfasts and a lovely terrase upstairs to sit and look out to church opposite.
