This is an apartment with 4 bedrooms individualy accomodating people with one shared bathroom and dining area area. The location is great close the the train station, shops and the metro. The price is cheap hence it retains some rating in my opinion. However checking in was difficult, there was no reception service for us, after several hours and researching...

This place is in the perfect location! Basically across the road from Roma Termini, a supermarket and an enjoyable walk from a lot of the main sights. The number 40 bus is also close by that will take you into the heart of the main attractions if you're not able to walk. Marco- owner- is lovely. He gave us a...

The guesthouse was adequate. A very friendly owner who gave lots of suggestions. The bathroom coukd be more clean and we had to wait a really long time to check in. The location is excellent for people needing an early train or bus from Termini.

During our three week travels around Europe, there wasn't one place more welcoming, friendly and hospitable than the Rome Metropolitan Guesthouse. Marco was eager to please from the time we arrived until we left. Bar Fondi (right next door) is also full of an incredibly welcoming staff. Don't miss the happy hour - the drinks are great and food (prepared...

Me and my partner only stayed for one day as we were traveling around Italy. This was our first time staying in a hostel so we didn't know what to expect, it was harder to find than we thought, room was big but had 2 extra single beds which looked like prison beds. Location was ideal for subway and breakfast...

my dear matty! the hostel dosen't sell PRIVATE ROOMS like my guesthouse! Hostel is hostel just because sells BEDS in dormitory rooms. We sell PRIVATE ROOMS with shared bathroom. This doesn't mean to be an Hostel! and above all, the cheap hostels, don't give the cleanness and the breakfasts we want for our guests! Everything could be improved, of course,...

Marco met us at the location and set us up for our stay. The bathroom was not the cleanest but the rooms were very clean. The restaurant is very close where you can go and get a free croissant and cappuccino for breakfast. Marco was very helpful with attractions and suggestions on restaurants and nightlife.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

“If you want to book that hostel despite what I worte, go for a room with a private bathroom! This was at least a little cleaner than the shared bathroom.”

“Book the room if you don't mind staying near the colosseum (15 minutes walk) but far from everything else. Those who prefer to stay the train station better think twice.”
