Only good things to say about here! Comfortable clean sheet, friendly staff, nice ensuit bathroom and an air con! Breakfast wasnt anything too crazy (toast spreads and ceral) but it was definatly suffiecent! It felt like good value for money, would defiantly stay again!

Clean, very friendly and helpful staff, nice communal area. Breakfast provided. Also in a good location. Not enough plugs, no air con, no curtains and back rooms have loud continuos noise from generators. No organised tours or nights out.

We are finishing 4 days in Rome and La Controra has been a big part of how much we have enjoyed the city. Roma is chaotic, but La Controra is quiet, has a great location, priced very affordable and the staff has been extremely helpful as well (recommendations for things to do, where to eat and drink, calling cabs if...

I'm currently staying here as I write this. I see many hostels on here, but based on price, this is the best out there. Why spend money on a place if you're going to spend most of your time out in the city? I'm in a 2 person room and I got put in room 5. I chose this place...

It was a short stay In Rome but I had a wonderful time .One of the reasons that made it so was La Controra, as it was all clean and neat with a quiet atmosphere. The staff were fantastic especially Marwa who helped with all what I needed to know about the places to visit and eat. It has a...

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed at! The staff are so friendly and helpful, they really made the experience great for me. We cooked a lot, hung out together and met travelers from all over. The beds are comfortable and the place is clean. Free breakfast is a plus. The location is good too, just 10 minutes walking...

The hostel was conveniently located only about a block from the underground station which was really nice for getting around to different tourist attractions. The four bedroom mixed dorm we stayed in was nice and clean and provided lockers for us to store our backpacks. Wifi worked well. Our only problem was that there didn't seem to be enough outlets...

I stayed three nights in a shared room for two people, and it was very spacious, clean and the bathroom looked very new. This is a pretty small hostel with limited front desk hours, so there is little "communal hostel feel". However breakfast was nice, and provides good chance to commune on a small table with other guests, just like...

I stayed at La Controra Hostel for 4 nights. It was a very nice hostel. It is very clean and the beds are comfortable for bunk beds. It is in the business district - away from the hustle and bustle, however it is still very easy to walk to all of the main attractions. The staff are friendly and are...

I stayed here for 2 nights and was overall happy with my stay. Clean dorms, friendly staff, wifi throughout and a kitchen and living room available for use. A couple of things made me dock it a star though - there was some mould on the walls in the shower (high up, not within reach, but still...). Also the beds...

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
