We started our honeymoon in Rome and after much research we decided on RetRome Colosseum Garden because of reviews and the price was pretty great for Rome too. We came in on the Leonardo Express and walked from the train station to RetRome. It took about 40 minutes trying to get our bearings but walking back to the train station...

This is a very small but friendly B&B - without the B included (as we booked via Booking.com)!! It is clearly a converted private apartment in a block of apartments in quiet residential street - only 5 minutes walk from the Colosseum. We were made to feel very welcome upon arrival and our room was ready even though we arrived...

This was the first of 4 different hotels we stayed at during our trip to Italy. Though it was small, it was absolutely perfect. The bed was comfortable, the nights were quiet and the air conditioning worked so quickly! The only issue I could see would be for larger guests. The bathroom was quite small. All in all, my boyfriend...

Great base for exploring the sights of Rome due to its proximity to the Colosseum. The immediate neighbourhood around the hotel has some fab night life including stylish but inexpensive wine bars, and great local Italian restaurants serving the best pizza. The lady on reception did a wonderful job of recommending local places to eat and drink, and she was...

The exterior of the hotel is quite discreet - we had to look quite hard to find the buzzer to the hotel! But once inside the reception area and our room were lovely - a nice clean, retro theme throughout. Overall the room was very comfy. The only one downside was that the Smart TV didn't work - they tried...

The Good: The location. It's not central, but it is near the Colosseum, the Metro and numerous bars and restaurants. We walked to different places within the city, but the Metro or buses are a few minutes walk away. The room: we stayed in a ground floor room. The kitchen had a stove top coffee maker, ground coffee, salt, pepper...

RetroRome is located very close to the Colloseum, and within walking distance to Monti, a very cool neighborhood with excellent boutique shopping and up-and-coming restaurants. First and foremost, we were thrilled with the location and the reasonable price! A 5 minute walk from the coliseum, but in a neighborhood that we felt wasn't overly touristy. In the restaurants in the evening, you certainly heard more Italian than English. The apartment itself (#8) was quite large, with two bedrooms, a large sitting room, and a nice...
