Great stay at this b&b. Friendly owners, clean, comfortable, secure and amazing location! Would definitely stay here again when in Rome! My only tip would be realising that you can put down the blinds which we didn't on the first night - but awaking to sunlight isn't too bad!

Great spot right in Trastevere with all it's great bars and restaurants along quaint cobble stone streets. Easy walking distance to all the major sights, local market and fantastic bakery/ coffee shop downstairs. Davide and Desiree were the best hosts, welcoming and fast responses to emails. Rooms true to internet photos, and balcony an unexpected bonus. Loved it!

At the end of a business trip, a coworker and I decided to stop over in Rome, Italy for a short girl vacation. We wanted a non-chain, more traditional experience and chose this B&B for our stay. We couldn't have been more pleased! We stayed in the Silver Room which was very spacious and comfortable. Davide was extremely accomodating, picking...

Having decided after booking via booking.com that we wanted to stay for a 4th night we contacted the b&b directly, and that is where the excellent service started. Davide is the most wonderfully helpful host you could ever ask for, we sent him no end of enquiry emails prior to our stay and he always responded swiftly, courteously and most...

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and loved it. The location is perfect. It is close to all the famous sights with fabulous places to eat near by. Davide and his team were so friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed this place and can't wait to go back again soon.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Zen Trastevere Red Room in July 2013. The location was perfect - centrally located in a very trendy area with great restaurants and pubs. The hostel was, at most, a 15 walk from all of the monuments, museums. The apartment itself was very well furnished, impeccably clean, spacious, quiet, peaceful, and the bed was...

Rome was the last stop on our 12 day Tuscan, Umbria, Rome tour. Over six months in advance, we rented all 3 rooms of Apartment A (Zoe) for our group of 7. Although David and his cousin are very nice people (David drove us to the airport when the car that was ordered for us was too small. We really...

Sr David of the B&B Zen Trastevere found a room for us at short notice in the next door B&B Danilo (qv) and transferred our booking at no extra charge from the nearby Relais Rome Sweet Rome Trastevere (NB NOT the similarly named Trastevere Relais), who had refused to honour our booking and left us locked out on the street...

The staff made us a good reception with very useful advises. Good breakfast although having breakfast in the room could seem strange at first but it doesn't bother us at all because we had a nice balcony and the room was big enough to do it properly. Very clean rooms with good facilities. I was a good choice

A great place to stay in it's own right, the friendly and professional staff (Davide, Andrea, Desire.....) make the accommodation perfect. Our party had two rooms (the Purple and Red rooms), which were very clean, spacious, air conditioned, both with balconies that enhanced the ambiance. Breakfast was self-served, or brought to your room as required. Staff were always nearby to...

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The B & B Zen Trastevere is the fruit of an idea that has recently taken shape: to create a setting where guests are offered every kind of comfort in a colorful and carefree environment, and also a little oasis of peace right in the middle of the Eternal City. The B&B is centrally located, right on Viale Trastevere, but is set within a courtyard so it is quiet and peaceful. The B&B, which opened in early 2011 with three rooms, has recently acquired a second B&B on the same floor so now there are seven double bedrooms total. The new rooms have been decorated with the same simple philosophy as the original three rooms, using the colors and diversity that our clients have always been enthusiastic about. In apartment A there are 3 double rooms, one with private bath en suite, and 2 which share a bathroom. All rooms have air conditioning and free WIFI Internet connection 24 hours a day. The rooms are furnished with care and elegance, with colors that make them welcoming and relaxing. Upon request, a third bed can be added in each of these rooms. In apartment B there are 4 double rooms, each with its own bathroom (one is outside the room). All rooms have air conditioning and free WIFI Internet connection 24 hours a day. Upon request, a third bed can be added in two of these rooms.Room prices include a rich and hearty continental breakfast which is served in the kitchen of each apartment. At B&B Zen Trastevere you will be welcomed with courtesy and availability, and by the enchantment of the true essence of Italian style. ... more   less
