Good value for the price of the room, incredibly clean. High standard of service also. Only problem was I didn't realise that 'do not disturb' door handle hanging should be on at all times when in the room, as a member of staff at the hotel came into the room after 9pm, found this quite strange as most things are...

We were tired of fancy chain hotels and wanted to try a smaller Italian hotel in Rome. This was a great choice. Starting with the location - walking distance to the Spanish steps, Trivi Fountain, the Pantheon and a Metro station on the corner. Many restaurants nearby from smaller pizza and sandwich shops to nice Italian restaurants and even a...

Hotel Alexandra is a hotel in the stylish Via Venato near the Piazza Barberini. Located in a pretty villa it has a nice atmosphere, not the typical business style but more of an old fashioned chique. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Our room on the front was nice and large enough for the four of us. The outside...

We stayed for three nights in April and our room was very tastefully decorated - although being nosey I peered into a few others as they were being cleaned as we passed by in the corridors and they didn't look as nice as ours, but I can only comment that our room was very lovely. The rooms aren't large, but...

We stayed here for 3 nights before Easter. Room was a good size, clean and tidy with adequate bathroom facilities. Location was great! Short walk and you find yourself at the Spanish steps and metro station is at the end of the road. Good selection of bars and restaurants nearby. Staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful and recommended...

Staff is very attentive and professional. Right by the metro so getting place to place is easy, and many must see places are within short walking distance. Breakfast would have been great if warm items such as eggs and potatoes were actually kept warm with a heat source rather just in a chafffing dish.

On the plus side, this hotel is very well placed for a number of the main attractions; the double bed was roomy and comfortable, and both the room and bathroom were kept clean. Drawbacks were steep steps from pavement to entrance, indifferent tv reception, sparse beverage items in the room, slow replenishment of breakfast food, and not all reception were...

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
