Small room at the start of our trip, but a larger, lovely room at the end. Total of 4 days. Staff is very accommodating. Hotel is lovely, welcoming, old world elegance without being pretentious. Breakfast is superb in a very beautiful courtyard setting when the weather allows. Stayed there last year also in an extremely large room. Liked the slightly...

* It was very cold in our room. The Air-conditioning system didn't work for heating. We spent 2 terrible nights trembling from the cold in our beds. We understand that in Rome it was also very cold these days (+4 - +10 on 20-22 Apr, very unsudden weather), BUT in 4 star hotel there MUST be some options of heating...

Definitely not a 4* room to me. Very small room (different from the photos), so so so much noise during all night and day, no frigobar, no working tv, no working hairdryer, so much dust on the floor and very uncomfortable bed and pillars. Definitely not a 4 stars to me. Just a sad tourists seeker for its decadence italian...

We stayed here for four nights overall during April - 6-8 then 20-22 on our honeymoon. This is a good hotel, but there are several issues. Pros: 1) Very good breakfast: scrambled eggs, toast, lots of different kinds of cheese and meat, fruit, fresh tomatoes. On our first stay there was fresh lettuce, on our second stay there was none,...

Quite a big. old 1800's hotel, in need of some updating in places but generally quite efficient with pleasant staff and a reasonable breakfast. Convenient for the Metro stop and Termini station, and possible to walk to Trevi fountain etc in about 20 minutes. The only problem was the noise. Despite asking for a quiet room (we overlooked the garden...

We had a room on the 4th floor overlooking the courtyard which was large and very pleasant. The hotel itself is well located near to a Metro and not far from the central station which is where airport coaches terminate. The hotel retains some of its old world grandeur and everything we saw was in good condition. Breakfast is of...

Hotel is very attractive, good sized rooms and very nice bathroom. Lobby is very nice although the lobby bar is a little small. Everything was very nice, except I asked for a wakeup call for a very early flight on my last day but the hotel does not have an automated wake up system and relies on slips of paper...

We stayed at Hotel Quirinale 12 years ago and it was lovely to come back with our grown-up daughters this time. The hotel is brilliantly situated and everything can be reached by foot. As a guest you are brought back to former times when hotels were elaborate, golden, extravagant - there even is an old-fashioned elevator - and the staff...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
