Outstanding service in an ideal location. Rooms are small but cheerful and clean. The service is surprisingly cheerful and more than willing to help with tours, taxis, restaurants and other tips. I would recommend this hotel over any other that I have used on my numerous trips to Rome.

It was at a really good location near ternini station and republica metro station..From republica station is only 5-7 minutes walking..We went on foot at all famous places (Coloseum.fontana di Trevi ,Piazza di spagna).Of course it was 15-25 minutes each place...

My husband & I have just returned from a five night stay in Rome and would definately recommend this hotel. We found it difficult to choose a hotel as there are so many, but were very pleased we chose this one. We flew with Ryanair into Ciampino Airport and got the Terravision coach to Termini Station (14 euros each return)....

We went to Rome for my birthday, we booked a flight and were looking for a resonable priced hotel not too far from the center. not something too classy but not one of those places where you have to pay for the airconditioning... we found Hotel Lirico on the net after searching tens of others. the price was right and...

My 12-year-old son and I stayed at the Hotel Lirico during Thanksgiving break, November 18-26, 2007. As everyone says, the location is great – five minutes’ walk from Termini Station, which gives great access to trains, both metro lines, and numerous useful shops. We had a “superior” room; being off-season, the price was the same as for a regular room....

Pleasant, very clean and beautifully decorated. Ample breakfast. Very pleasant. Please realize that Rome Hotels within the older sections of town offer small rooms. This was very small - - - can't do anything else but accept that. It was very friendly, ehlpful, comfortable and very nicely run. I stayed at two other hotels and , although this was a...

After putting a fair amount of research into where to stay in Rome in November, Hotel Lirico was the one i opted for. On arrival at the hotel we were greeted with a smile and a very efficient, quick check in. 1st impressions upon entering were that it was very well maintained and spotlessly clean. The bed was of a...

Hotel Lirico is perfect for Rome. Absolutely ideal. Very close to Termini (we walked to and from), beside the Liric Operahouse. The neighborhood is quiet and perfectly suited for eating any type of food you want, or foot travel to all of the best Rome spots. It's an easy walk to Trevi Fountain, and about a mile to the Colosseum....

Myself and my boyfriend stayed at the Hotel Lirico, Rome in April of this year which we booked via lastminute.com. (Apologies for the late review!) The best thing about this hotel would have to be the location. It is just around the corner from Piazza della Repubblica metro station which is so convenient for travelling around the city. About 15...

Hotel Lirico was awesome. We stayed there from October 2nd to October 4th, 2007. It is very clean and very close to the Termini. Our room was a double standard - it was a small room but comfortable. The bathroom was super clean. The bed was a bit hard to sleep on. The breakfast room was nice and airy and...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
