I booked on Expedia Hotel Mario de Fiori, hotel I used several times in the past. Nobody told me that it is closed now , they passed my reservation without informing me to hotel Condotti. It was fine , the hotel is renovated and looks beautiful. The problem was that when we arrived in the evening , they sent us in a dependence of the hotel in Via del Corso . The room was really ugly, very old building , tiny elevator, internet was not working, few programs in tv in English, small window , the view was a wall, really uncomfortable and overpriced for what it offered, the price per night was the same of Condotti hotel that is really beautiful. The stuff was nice, but doesn’t change my 1 star review. Very very disappointed and unhappy for this experience

I really try to avoid writing poor reviews of hotel properties, since I know that operating a hotel is a tough, demanding business. However, I am compelled to write this review to warn others. The descriptions of this hotel in the on-line platforms such as TripAdvisor and Expedia are completely misleading. At least in the building in which we stayed, it is ABSOLUTELY NOT a luxury boutique hotel as represented; the pictures of the rooms it posts on-line don't show what they actually are. The "hotel", such as it is, is actually a group of buildings owned by a company. The building we stayed at on Via del Corso was no better than an average short term rental, which we had enter via security codes entered on the outside door and then on the room door. There was no lobby with a reception desk in the building, which would have been nice for safety purposes. Upon entering the outside entrance, anyone could enter following behind you. The room we had was virtually windowless, with just a small window opening onto a narrow alley or air shaft. The building we stayed in was NOT 50 meters from the Spanish Steps as advertised, but actually more than 5 blocks away. Also, as a minor issue, there were only Italian TV channels, and no channels in other languages such as English. The WIFI, such as it was, intermittent and poor. I don't mind whatsoever for paying for a hotel for room and getting what you pay for. We try to stay in nice properties and are far from bargain hunters. But for what we paid, we were angry and disappointed. Having said all of this, the staff was very nice and the location was good.

A wonderful hotel, rooms as in the photos, beautifully set out. The staff are quite simply the best, all five star. Superb location for tourist sites, shops and restaurants. My wife and I will definitely stay here again, but also at other Condotti hotels.

Profound disappointment! Life it's all about style and honesty. Unfortunately they both are unknown to the Condotti’s management and personal! Our stay at the Condotti Boutique Hotel from November 13 to the 16, 2023, was a true nightmare that started when for two days in a row beginning on the 15th, we were unable to shower due to the absence of hot water. Incredibly on November 15th, when we returned from breakfast, we found the door of our room fully open and 3 plumbers had taken over our room and denied us access for over half day. You can imagine our disbelief when we discovered that they had, without our presence and without requesting our permission, with their filthy hands, rummaged through our lingeries, clothings and belongings which they haphazardly moved from the walk-in closet were they were neatly stored to our bedroom. Eventually a second unauthorized intrusion followed the plumbers one, this time by the hotel staff, that despite our specific request not to touch and therefore move our personal effects back from the bedroom to the wardrobe, ignored our request and violated for the second time our privacy, just as the plumbers did earlier! Additionally when we returned to our room on the evening of November 15th discovered that the wardrobe had been left by the plumbers flooded and full of muddy footprints. Clearly no one cared to clean the room after them! The biggest and most frustrating part was waking up on the morning of the 16th, after staying up until 2.30 in the morning packing up our bags as we were to depart, and since we had been unable to do it earlier, due to been denied access to the room to allow the plumbers to work and to discover that, after all the inconveniences we had been put through, we still couldn't shower because there was still no hot water! It’s very difficult to excuse the inability of the Hotel staff to resolve the situation which, instead of remedying the consequences of a mechanical failure, by moving us to another room, preferred to transform our stay into a nightmare, incapable like proved to be to find a solution, demonstrating a profound lack of professionalism and problem solving skills. I bet that even the cheapest bed and breakfast it would have handled the situation better! Despite our numerous requests and attempts to speak with the Director of the Hotel, he kept denying himself starting from the morning of the 15th and kept hiding until our departure on the 16th! Ultimately declined to take full responsibility and shamefully, without my authorization, charged my credit card despite the front desk assurance at 8:45am on November 16th day of our departure, that they would have let the security deposit expire and that there would have be no further charges to my credit card. Their shameful behaviour, lack of style and greed speaks volumes about the terrible management and dishonesty of the Director and the owner of Condotti Boutique Hotel whom, despite having promised that would have met with us on the morning of November 16th, never showed up! Sadly they declined to take responsibility and let their greed to take over!

This hotel was wonderful. The location, right at the heart and of the Spanish steps area with lots of shops and cute restaurants. Walking distance to all sights and the staff was great. Very helpful and great suggestions. Thanks for a wonderful, memorable trip. We will be back.

I stayed here about 8 years ago, and wondered whether the quality of the hotel had gone down, based on some of the negative reviews. I’m pleased to say that it hasn’t. This is a lovely boutique hotel in a fantastic area. The main complaints people seem to have are about the room size and the possibility of getting a room in another building. Here’s the thing you need to know… rooms in this neighbourhood are small and expensive. If you get a good deal, you are likely in a small room in another building. If you want a large room, in the main building, with a view, you have to pay for it. I have stayed in a tiny annex room as well as a premium room in the main building. They were both great.

Our experience at this hotel was fairly average. It’s in a great location in Rome and fairly priced for the location, but there’s nothing special about it. The rooms are small and the beds weren’t the most comfortable. The service was seemed robotic & impersonal. The breakfast was subpar, and the hotel didn’t inform us that it wasn’t included in the rate until our last day. I’d only stay again if we couldn’t find anywhere else available.

Lovely little hotel in a great spot not far from the Spanish steps. There’s a vast selection of restaurants nearby and it’s within walking distance to many of the sights. The colosseum is about 15-20 minutes away. The room has a large king size bed, safe, fridge, and air conditioning. The people running the hotel are very helpful and friendly. I’d recommend it.
