We booked a last minute package hoilday and bagged a fantastic deal so had not expected to stay in such a luxurious hotel so near to the city centre. The room was petite but beautifully furnished with antique furniture and the walls were fabric lined in gold brocade however the bathroom was tiny and despite being immaculate in need of...

We have just returned from Rome. We celebrated our Wedding Anniversary and stayed at this charming hotel. The location is great: Not too far to walk to the hop-on-hop-off bus service (Piazza Barbarini) The room was not big but very clean with bed linen and towels changed daily. Breakfast was taken on their rooftop bar/restaurant area. Fantastic views over the...

Have just got back from Rome with memories of a sundowner on the roof garden of the hotel looking over the rooftops towards the Vatican... truly lovely. The room we had was a tad small but everything else about the hotel was perfect - a great buffet breakfast - which you could eat outside, a good location and exceptional helpful...

Brilliant weekend spent in Rome. The hotel was friendly, clean, accommodating, helpful. Couldn't have wished for anything more. Visited all the sites recommend by Mario in reception and a few more. The rooftop bar and breakfast lounge were a great place to start and finish the day. All the historic sites are within 20 minutes walking distance. Not one did...

My boyfriend and I absolutely loved our stay at the Marcella Royal, the staff were fantastic! We were greeted at check in by Mario who was very helpful and gave us some great information about where to visit and the best tours to book along with a map of the city and which routes to take. Breakfast on the roof...

Lovely boutique hotel with good room and friendly staff. Within walking distance from station. Not too dear either. The roof terrace has good view of the city but don't buy a drink! Location means you can walk to most of the main tourist sites. The street has several good restaurants too.

From the moment we arrived the staff could not be more helpful, this is a well run hotel in a quiet side street with reasonable transport links nearby. The reception area is well appointed, clean and welcoming, 2 somewhat slow lifts to wide, well lit floors with reassuring fire doors as is the practice in Rome. The room wasn't the...

Just back from a wonderful weekend in Rome! We stayed at the Marcella Royal Hotel, near the Rebublica area of the city. The hotels in Rome are generally a bit more old fashioned than we're used to as Brits, but despite not being minimalist and modern, the hotel was fantastic and felt luxurious. Our room was on the 5th floor,...

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
