5 minutes walk from Termini train station and walking distance from the main attractions means this hotel is well located. The rooms are adequate as is the breakfast and wi-fi is free throughout the hotel. If you want a bit of luxury then I'd look elsewhere but for the price in Rome then this does the job.

Stayed mid November for 3 nights. Location is outside the centre but if reasonably fit not too far to walk to the main attractions. From my point of view it meant eating out was quite reasonabley priced with plenty of choice just a few yards from the hotel. Also the Train station was just far enough as this is not...

We made the mistake of booking this through a travel agent who told us it was lovely. We were on our honeymoon and asked for somewhere pretty special - it was special in all the wrong ways!! It was tiny, had no natural light and an air conditioning unit that leaked dirty water onto our bed!! I said it to...

This hotel is actually a 3+++ grade. It is v conveniently located 5 mins from Termini. Our room was perfectly;y adequate with a balcony that we used each day to enjoy the still warm mid November sun. As previously reported tea and coffee making facilities available on request. Reception staff very helpful contradicting other reviewers comments. Loads of restaurants within 100...

Have just returned from a four night break in the Villafranca. We arrived very late at night following a delayed flight and found the hotel fairly easily. Our check in was quick and painless and we found our room to be slightly small but very clean. The room was cleaned every day and we also received clean towels every day....

There are so many things wrong with this hotel I don’t know where to start. Reception was just awful. Unfriendly, unhelpful and just didn’t care. Getting directions was like extracting teeth. We asked for a map and were told they didn’t have any. We walked by a few minutes later to find them giving one to another couple. The first...

This hotel was just perfect for a 3 night stay that I had in September. Location is just 5 mins walk from Termini, but is in a quiet small street off of Via Valencia, so you are not in the middle of hustle, bustle an noise. Inside it looks like it has been modernised tastefully and was very clean. the buffet...

The location is outstanding, close to Termini (main railroad Station), close to tour buses and Metro. Room had a balcony overlooking via Villafranca street. Price includes full breakfast and you have a wide selection of places to eat very close to the hotel. There was a persistent problem with the elevators which hampered getting luggage down from the seventh floor;...

We stayed for 4 nights at the hotel. Hotel is good located 15 min walk from Termini railwaystation and 2 min walk to the nearest metrostation. It is a nice hotel with a modern lobby, breakfast area and small bar. We stayed on the 6th floor in a room with balcony (huge!). Rooms are ok. Breakfast is average. The main...

On arrival we were advised that the hotel had no room for us and moved us clear across Rome to a hotel in a residential area behind the Vatican in spite of our objections and insistance that we did not wish to be so far out and that it would interfere with our plans. We were assured that all would...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
