The hotel looks great from outside, the staff are very helpful, the reception and the interior of the hotel were good and looked renovated. The room was small looks old, the bathroom is a disaster and needs urgent renovation, Wi-Fi is weak.

This is a good value for your money hotel. There is wifi at the hotel but most of the time it wasn't working. It is located near the main trainstation and the Colosseum is at walking distance. At the end of the street there is a little supermarket and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. The staff is very friendly...

Very good experience here. The employees speak English and were very helpful, and the hotel was located near the train so it was easy to explore the rest of Italy. The subway was close, and main attractions were walking distance. Would rate the hotel 4 star with a 3 star price. Not bad for a centrally location in Rome.

Very nice hotel, and friendly staff! They helped us a lot. Our room was clean, from the balcony we have seen the Santa Maria Maggiore basilica. Breakfast was delicious, we could eat as much as we would like. We absolutley recommend this place to stay. /We stayed for 5 nights/ Nagyon szép hotel, nagyon kedves és segítőkész staff! Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable. Breakfast is terrible, old bread, tiny cups, poor selection. The warm water did barely exist in two of the rooms we had, we had to chase the drops coming out of the shower in two of the rooms … in the other bathroom the water flooded the entire bathroom out in the room and...

When our plans changed for staying in our usual Rome Hotel, we found the D"Este right next door- not what we are used to, but for 2 nights it was ok. Typical old furnishings, adequate room, but had a really good breakfast buffet

Great location, close to a beautiful church and square. Shopping is nearby, grocery store as well. The beds are super uncomfortable, the staff is really rude, can't be bothered to answer your questions and make you feel stupid. The buffet breakfast is the same every day, not fresh, poorly put together. Would likely not stay at this hotel again, I...

We spent a week here from 20th to 27th March. We'd read the reviews after booking and we're a bit concerned. The hotel is near to the Termini but we didn't encounter any problems. We had read reports of beggars etc but to be honest they are in all parts of the city. The hotel is also very close to...

We chose this Hotel for the location. We arrived by pre booked taxis. Very friendly reception. The hotel was litteraly mid renovation, there were workmen building furniture in the hall ways and old furniture stacked outside! It did not effect us in anyway our room wasn't quite finished decor wise and a mix of new/old furniture but it was very...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
