Upon arriving at the hotel, the reception area was lovely, a lot of time has been spent doing this area up to a good standard Bedroom: Room 307 This room slept 4 people. 2 single beds and 1 double. was perfect size for 4 females travelling on a weekend short break The room was lacking power sockets and one socket...

Cozy and clean hotel near Santa Maria Maggiore, with heating and large room, with no bad breakfast and helpful receptionists. 40 euros for a double room with breakfast in February in Rome is very well. Convenient to station Termini and metro,15 minutes walk from the Coliseum.

Front of house staff were lovely! Very helpful, our initial room was compact but we liked it anyway! As i was travelling with my son we had separate beds, the room was great until my son noticed a few red ants coming from behind a tile in the bathroom, we left it until we returned from a walk as we...

Arrived tired & weary to find there was a problem with the booking (hotel manager blamed the booking agent for not telling him the booking was for a twin room plus a single even though we'd been very specific). That said the hotel manager was helpful in trying to resolve the issue & we ended up compromising and taking the...

A great location for a short stay in the city of Rome, staff very helpful, room serviced daily but some attention to detail would help, radiator cover hanging off and very sharp TV had no remote controllers at all, wardrobe door couldnt open to access the draws. The wiring i the bedroom and bathroom had alot to be desired. On...

Received a very nice welcome from staff who remembered us from a previous stay. Reception area and some rooms upgraded since then and now very pleasant. This time we had a spacious room at the front of the hotel - everything clean and as you would expect. Breakfast was pretty good - choice of a few cereals and yoghurts, bread,...

We stayed at D'Este for a 3 night break as part of our honeymoon. We were originally put at the back of the hotel looking into very unsightly houses, but where moved to the front of the hotel looking into the the Maggiore church - stunning view especially at night! Literally could not have been more happy with its location...

We visited the hotel in November. Travelled as a couple for a few days and chose this hotel as our city break base. Only about a 10 minute walk from the Termini station and very central so ideal to walk from. Cost €6 each from the airport to the main station. Took about 45 minutes. A taxi would have cost...

We stayed for 4 nights, in a triple room on 2nd floor, overlooking the main street. The hotel is in an old building, and so is limited in what services it can provide. However, they seem to have done the best they can with what they have. So, the room was clean and comfortable, with a recently refurbished bathroom and...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
