My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights for a sightseeing holiday. The hotel was great. It was conveniently located in the city centre just 5 minutes walk from Termini Train station and close to the Colosseum. The staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel was exceptionally clean. It was quiet and air-conditioned. There was a good selection of...

We have just returned from a four night stay at Hotel Doria. A lovely small hotel. Room was clean, and the staff incredibly helpful and friendly. Having breakfast on the rooftop terrace is a great way to start the day. The only (small) complaint I would have is the size of the shower, could hardly move in it. However, it...

My husband and I stayed here in June. The location was within an easy walk of Termini station and close to several fun little restaurants. Our room was comfortable and quiet. The lift was so tiny, it only fit one person and one bag but that was workable. The breakfast on the roof was our favorite part.

This is a charming small hotel that is walking distance from Termini station. The people were super nice, and we enjoyed breakfast (included) on the roof-top dining area every morning while overlooking the city. Breakfast is very modest, no carving stations or anything like that. We were able to find enough to eat though. Coffee is served any way you...

My husband and I stayed here at the end of April. Hotel is spotless and quaint and in a great location. Handy for the hop on hop off bus stop too. Staff are really friendly and helpful. There is only room for one at a time in the lift but that just added to the charm! Bathrooms are a bit...

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Doria in Rome for our honeymoon in late April/early May. It is a lovely boutique hotel with a wonderful staff that was so helpful to us during our stay (a staff that is there 24 hours a day!..great when you're coming back from dinner and drinks quite late at night). We even...

Lovely friendly hotel which is excellently situated for the sites of Rome, within 5min walk of the train station and all the sites can be walked to within 30 mins. The room was lovely and very clean,my only criticism would be that the shower is very snug,if you're a bigger person I think you would struggle. Breakfast on the roof is...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
