We have just returned from a 4 night stay in Starhotels Metropole and all the great reviews about the hotel proved to be correct. The hotel reception was inviting and though we didn't require much assistance from the reception desk staff, they were helpful when asking directions. Our hotel room was a good size and very clean. The bathroom was...

On arrival was delt with efficently and given room 911. When we went to the room we found the room to be noisy. (Think it was the air conditioning).Went back to reception and explained the room was noisy. The receptionist then called the bell boy over who showed me to another room to see if it looked ok. It was...

We stayed at this hotel for three nights for our final destination on the Titan Travel 'Treasures of Italy' tour and it was by far the best hotel of the three. Modern, shiny, squeaky clean with attractive public areas, it gave the impression of being a well-run and efficient hotel with polite but not overly friendly staff (apart from one...

I stayed here for 5 nights with my partner and we loved it. The bed was extremely comfy and the rooms/hotel overall is very nicely decorated and maintained. Room service and staff helpfulness were great, they recommended some fabulous restaurants for us. Location wise it's pretty good. Just a few minutes walk to the coliseum. We got the bus for...

Stayed here 1 night in September and it was the worst night I have ever spent in a hotel. I returned to the room at 10 PM and just needed a good night's sleep for an early departure the next day. After showering and getting into bed, the room alarm went off. The sad fact is that the key card...

We selected the hotel based on the location (close to the train station) and the reviews on Trip Advisor. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We were "upgraded" to a business room, although the amenities did not seem much different than a standard room, only slightly bigger. The breakfast buffet was very good with lots of variety.

Stayed here for 3 nights in August, regretted every minute of it. We paid close to $300CAD per night for our stay at this hotel, not worth it! The rooms have very old carpeting, rock hard beds and stained furniture, very dated, not at all what the photos on the website indicate. My 11 year old had a single sofa...

This hotel is located near the train station and the underground station. Quiet and comfortable, but not very cheap. I had an internal room with a window on the courtyard, the view wasn't beautiful, but room was very quiet. Minibar was expensive. The rest was ok.

The hotel is located just 2 minutes from the main train station (with regular service to/from the airport) and a major bus hub - so it is perfectly located for exploring Rome on foot, or via public (or tourist) bus. We stayed in 2 deluxe rooms (one double and one twin) and they were both unusually spacious and quiet -...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
