Booked through Travel Republic in July 2012 after cancellation of holiday by local company (lack of numbers so not viable) Standard room with breakfast included. Arrived at 13.30h, advised room ready for 14.00----not available until 15.30. Room on 1st floor, clean and very quiet throughout stay. Replenishment of bathroom equipment variable, one day no towels etc. at all, but replaced...

The location is great for getting around Rome with the train station and metro links 2 streets walkaway. The hotel it self was impressive very clean throughout and very friendly staff who were very helpful and made conversation in English. When booking taxis they were very prompt and we were ushered to the awaiting car in minutes. When looking to...

We stayed here for 4 nights from 9th August when Rome was extremely hot! The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful and efficiently checked us into our room on the first floor. Whilst unpacking I noticed that the ceiling in the bathroom had water coming through it and rang down to reception who sent someone up immediately....

Stayed here for one night during a city visit to Rome. Got the bus into Rome and the hotel was perfectly placed just 2 minutes walk from the Termini. Arrived at 11am, hoping just to drop our bags in, but was pleasantly surprised to be told we were being upgraded and our room was ready now. We stayed in an...

The only good thing about this hotel was the location. It was in a relatively quiet part of the city with restaurants nearby. The rooms were drab and outdated, and the safe didn't work, and every time we took a shower, it would start to fill up as the drain was apparently clogged. Breakfast, as well as dinner, was boring....

The hotel was less than a 5 minute walk to the central train station which is alsothe best location to start an open top hop on hop off bus tour. The hotel itself has a large lobby with free wifi, The wifi in the rooms is not free but reasonable at 5.50 euros for 24 hours. Staff were friendly and...

Nice lobby with marble floors and lots of comfy seats. Check in was fast and friendly. The room was lovely. Superking sized bed, very efficient air con, tea making facilities, safe, fridge and even a mini television in the bathroom. Breakfast was the usual cereals, ham, cheese, yoghurts, breads and pastries. They also did an 'American' breakfast which was proper...

Stayed two nights in July because we were told it was the nearest to the railway staion. Not true, there are hundreds of hotels near the station and this was just at the limit of our walking distance with luggage. We arrived late and were met by te rudest receptionist we came accross on our tour of Italy. Tall bald...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
