Great hotel with beautiful courtyard to have breakfast and aperitif. It was a shame the roof terrace was closed on our visit. Very helpful lovely receptionists who helped us book restaurants when we were stuck. The breakfast buffet was a little lack lustre but forgivable. Great cocktails in the evening in the garden, perfect for a spritz. The rooms were...

We stayed at the Locarno 1 night before we joined a cruise from the port of Civitavecchia. The Cruise package included the one night at the Locarno, so I didn’t really know what to expect. The package also included a late flight into Rome which was not ideal as most of the evening was lost, so we planned to get...

Location is great with just a minute walk to many shops and restaurants. Staff are friendly and helpful. Always wearing smile. Though rooms and furnitures are a bit old but they are pretty clean. The bed is comfortable though small. The garden is nice for both breakfast and drinks.

I was expecting pretty decor but with the need to lower my standards in terms of modern conveniences such as appropriate water pressure for showers and temperature control for rooms. Needless to say that this was not the case with the new renovation and our suite was one of the best in the hotel. I give this place 5 stars....

I love hotel Locarno. Myself and all my family stay here when we go to Rome. It is in a beautiful old building close to everything you could want. Reception is caring and helpful for every request. I have stayed in a standard room and a suite. The rooms are simple and traditionally decorated but very comfortable. I love the...

This hotel was beautiful but our room would never cool below 77F and desk attendant said it was a new unit and they had it set correctly. If you prefer a cool and relaxing hotel , this is not the place. Also beware of the extra, extra firm mattress.

We booked this for our last 2 nights in Rome, as a treat, having stayed in BnB accommodation on our arrival in Rome, and subsequently in Puglia. I picked it because it was billed as having a romantic feel, and genuine art deco . But there was nothing romantic or art deco about our room at all. It was drab....

This was our second visit to the hotel Locarno and first time with our daughter aged two. I have to say we were delighted with how accommodating they were for our daughter, including organising a taxi from the airport with a car seat, storing our buggy downstairs near the reception and providing warm milk at night. We paid for a...

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighbourhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighbourhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (21:00), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
