My wife and I stayed five days at Kiara B&B while visiting our daughter who is studying abroad in Rome for the fall semester. Chiara is a truly wonderful, charming and accommodating proprietor with maps, advice, and always a friendly smile. We know that Tripadvisor travelers understand how important it is to have an owner who is responsible, responsive, and...

My husband and I absolutely loved the Kiara B and B! Chiara (the hostess) is fabulous! She is very friendly and knowledgeable about Rome. She gave warnings about what to be on the lookout for and great suggestions about where to eat (take her suggestions to heart- the restaurants she recommended were some of the best on our trip). The...

We ended up staying at Kiara B&B because the B&B we booked had plumbing issues in our room. It turned out that it was a blessing in disguise - this tiny B&B was perfect for us. Very centrally located in Trastevere (close to all the best dining) and was very clean. Vittoria (Kiara's mother) was so sweet and helpful. She...

My wife and I have stayed in Kiara B&B between March 12, 2013 and March 17, 2013. The room is basically a small studio inside a bigger apartment (there are total of 3 rooms / studios inside the same apartment) because you get a small kitchen, a dining table, nice size bathroom and a large bed in cca. 30 m2....

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.

“Go to the piazza a block away. In the morning there's a market with great fruits and vegetables. In the afternoon it's just a place where people hang out. Get a slice of pizza and sit there, watch the Roman life go by.”
