We were a bit scared of this hotel, just because some other reviews had been so bad, but we thought it was really nice! When we arrived the room weren't ready yet, but they were really apologetic about it and looked after our bags while we had a wander round the city (and to be fair to them, we were...

When we booked this hotel we were a little put off by other people's comments but on arrival we were happy with the hotel accomodation. Yes the lift is very small but hey that's just the way the building is made and I'm sure the building was there before the lift! I would rather struggle a bit with cases in...

Our room was very nice, probably the nicest we stayed in during our entire trip around Europe. Big bed, high ceiling, clean bathroom. However, when we asked the front desk staff where we could find a good breakfast, we looked at us like we were idiots and said, "Everywhere." They had given us business cards with another hostel name on...

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. Having stayed here before, I knew that the location was handy for accessing the main sights and termini (for our early flight home). The rooms are small but clean and adequate. However, our room this time was next to reception which is open 24hrs with a buzzer system in place for the...

Me and 9 of my friends stayed here for 1 night. The place was about 10 mins walk from the Termini station it's good if you don't have many luggages. For us though we have lots of heavy luggages. When we get there the elevator was very small probably fit about 3 people max. We took almost an hour to...

Stayed here for a long weekend in October. It is very close to the central train station Termini, so you have easy access to all public transport and you can reach it easily from the airports. Of course you are right in the center of the city and can get to all the sites pretty quickly. However, the street Via...

A budget style B&B. Shock on checking in when they demanded cash for the outstanding amount which was not mentioned on their website, it clearly stated to bring the credit card that the reservation was made with. They kept my passport until we'd managed to get the cash. The hotel seemed exceptionally noisy with people banging suitcases down the stairs...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
