The hotel is designed around an 18th century palazzo and it is luxurious and beautiful. The hotel is very centrally located (near the Spanish steps). The staff is excellent throughout the hotel. The decor in the rooms is elegant and tasteful, and he beds are very comfortable. The rooftop terrace is an excellent place to have a drink and look out over the city.. This is an excellent luxurious hotel - one of my favorites in Rome.
From the moment I walked into the hotel the team made me feel as if I was a long time friend who was coming home for a visit. The hotel location cannot be better, directly above the Spanish Steps and close to all the sites, attractions and shopping available in Rome. They did an entire renovation right before the pandemic so the rooms are fresh but still in the style of a classic Roman hotel with very modern touches. The bathroom amenities, Irene Forte, are some of the best quality amenities I have encountered at any luxury hotel I have stayed in. Highly recommend cocktails or a light dinner at their rooftop terrace. The hotel is great but the staff was fantastic. I stayed four nights and then went to Florence for five nights and came back for one night to catch a flight back to the US. As I walked through the lobby for my second stay, you would have thought it was the Pope who had walked in! I had never felt so welcome anywhere. I must highlight the attentiveness of the Concierge, Laura. She listened and was quick with suggestions. I know exactly where I will be staying next time I return to Rome!!…
Nice hotel, good service and great food. We usually book junior suites and this was a nice size! Very clean, and updated. If you like to be in the middle of the hustle and bustle this location is great for you if you prefer a more toned down environment I’d look into a different location. Pretty views of Rome from their rooftop!
Phenomenal stay at this gorgeous hotel. From the moment we arrived to the moment we departed we were treated exceptionally well. Every person in their employ is gracious, professional, courteous and kind. Our flight arrived before 10 am, well before check in. We had no expectation for our early arrival but Giacomo Quadretti (Front Desk Agent) informed us our room was being prepared ,walked us to the restaurant, ordered us coffee, gave us internet information and came back to collect us within 45 minutes to escort us to a BIG surprise. We’d been upgraded to an incredible suite (606) which features a stunning living room, luxurious bedroom and bathroom, a powder room, walk in closet and a massive terrace which can be accessed via the living/dining and bedroom and allows for expansive views overlooking the Spanish Steps and many Roman monuments. Absolutely breathtaking. The General.Manager,Francesca Roccato sent chocolates, fruit, sparkling water and a lovely welcoming note .So unexpected and so appreciated. The Concierge mapped out what we needed to see, made our dinner reservations, a Tuscan delight. This is truly a five star experience in every way. Everything about this luxury hotel is first rate, from the linens, to the toiletries to their soft cushy towels and plush housecoats. Nothing is left to chance. The breakfast in the Mosaico (a Roman Courtyard) was delicious. I am Vegan and was pleasantly surprised when oat milk for my coffee was readily available. Service with a smile. If you are staying in Rome do yourself a favour, splurge if you must but make this your hotel of choice. You won’t be disappointed. We cannot wait to return. Grazie Mille .…
This hotel was wonderful! Very clean, helpful English-speaking staff. Best part is that is within a few blocks of a beautiful beach. If you want a Hilton or Marriott, it's not for you. If you want clean, typical small Italian hotel this is for you. Wonderful small restaurants within walking distance. We sat on the terrance while waiting for our room and did the online Covid test needed to get back to the USA that was provided by the cruise line. Side note, download the app for the Covid test before leaving the US. Don't wait until you're in the airport!!!!! You need a quiet place and about 20 minutes per test.
Very nice and pleasant experience. Very helpful and friendly staff. The best thing of this experience was the amazing view from the terrace and the delicious food! I had wonderful cocktails at the Julep Bar. Definitely an experience to repeat!
This Hotel is a delight, from the first charming greeting by the Doorman and beyond to all the Staff. It was wonderful after a day’s walking and seeing all the sights, to go up to our cool, comfortable room and relax. To have a drink in the rooftop bar before dinner and gaze at the glory that is Rome over a cocktail is my idea of heaven …..as was the Breakfast in the garden every morning! Sincerely this Hotel is a delight and while certainly expensive….is in my humble opinion, worth every euro! Highly recommend
We spent a night at the Hotel de la Ville for a very special occasion for us. What can I say - the hotel really made our stay memorable in every regard. The staff is incredibly friendly. The location is fantastic. The rooftop bar has amazing views. The rooms are stylish. We will definitely come back!
The hotel is beautiful, in a great location and although pricey the service is superb. The room was very nice, with a fantastic terrace. I must say, having been lucky to stay in many lovely hotels across the world, I have never experienced quieter air conditioning - very impressive, particularly in a building of this date! A huge shout out to the amazing concierge service. Christian in particular was pivotal in making our trip to Rome what it was. A mark of a fine hotel is the service they provide and, from weeks in advance, the concierge were on hand to assist us plan our trip (essential to experience everything you want to in this amazing city). The only negative is the spa, I would unfortunately advise any other guests to avoid a treatment. The massages are incredibly expensive, which could be justified given the location, but the ‘deep tissue’ massage was nothing close to it (and shouldn’t be named as such given it is a specialty) and, to add insult to injury, they did not last 60 minutes as they started about 15 minutes late. I can see other travellers have unfortunately had similar experiences. Other than the spa - truly fantastic hotel for a wonderful break in the eternal city!…
The hotel is modern, clean, and beautiful. It's in a great location (right on top of the Spanish Steps!). The customer service was the best part, everyone was so friendly! It is on the pricier side for the size of the room. It was the smallest room out of all the hotels we stayed in Italy, but the customer service definitely makes up for it! Will recommend and stay again if we get a chance to return. The spa was a great size and actually had amenities. Although the massages were not the best we ever had, they were very friendly . We were able to shower in our private spa room before leaving (something lacking in the spas back home).
