This place is insanely beautiful. Great rooms, great location, very close to pantheon, staff and owner are very welcoming. We stayed in the Giunone room, which has a beautiful view, on the ruins of Largo Argentina. Absolutely recommended!

The owner is extremely helpful and friendly: even before our arrival, he sent me useful links to various tourist attractions and airport transfer information, then during our stay, he was very nice with booking dinner table or provide information and directions whenever we asked. We used the transport company recommended by Sergio. Since there is no visible sign of this... More

We stayed here for 5 nights at the beginning of October. We had a room with a view which overlooked the Torre Argentina cat sanctuary. We had great fun trying to count them from our apartment. The apartment itself is truly ideally situated. It is in easy walking distance to many of the main attractions for example Piazza Navona, Piazza... More

This is a hidden gem, overlooking the site of Julius Caesar's assassination in 44 B.C., now a cat sanctuary known as Largo Argentina. The room was huge, the bathroom also very spacious, and the service impeccable. The breakfast is quite an adequate start to a day. The location is ideal, just a short walk from the Pantheon and the Piazza... More

We spent three nights at the Gens Julia and loved it! The location is unbeatable and Sergio was extremely helpful in providing directions and local recommendations. Definitely a more personal experience than a larger hotel- you feel much more like a guest than just another tourist. We were served cappuccino, juice, and a pastry each morning and little glasses of... More

This hotel is directly across from the "Sacred Area" which also happens to be where Julius Caesar was murdered. It is a short walk to the Pantheon, or to the Campo del Fiori and close to the Forum and Coliseum. The rooms are beautiful, the view spectacular and I loved that they served us our breakfast in our room. Rome... More

What a great hotel. We took two rooms, one with a view, another without and were very pleased with everything. Staff is just best ever, the host, Sergio, was incredibly helpful and kind suggesting nice places to go and bringing coffee or tea during the day. Light breakfast (free) was served in the room by Ernesto and he was greeting... More

Staying in Ghetto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ghetto
The mini-neigbourhood Ghetto holds tight to its reputation as a stand-alone area thanks to its nearly 300-year history as the home to Rome’s Jewish community. Times changed in the 20th century, but the tiny area still retains its mix of tradition, community, and history. Ancient and medieval architectural design frames apartments, bakeries, shops, and restaurants. Friends and families are the pulse of the neighbourhood, keeping company on the Via del Portico d’Ottavia. The Ghetto observes the traditional Jewish Shabbat: businesses close from Friday sundown to Saturday sundown.
