Unfortunately what you see on the website is not necessarily what you get. The location is excellent, walking distance to all Rome's attractions and Trastevere has lots of nice restaurants and bars, but the accomodation itself is sadly lacking. Upon arriving in the middle of the day we were shown to a room which was not actually in the hotel,...

This b&b boasts a beautiful building, wonderful rooms and excellent location however the positives stop there. We stayed for four nights and each night became worse than the last. Each day, after exploring Rome, we would return tired and ready for a long rest however we would be 'greeted' by an exceptionally rude and pretentious lady at the door who...

We'll, this one is tricky. At arrival, we loved everything about this little hotel/B&B. However, some issues during our stay prevent us from giving the good review that we had imagined. Pros: excellent location, not found better in Trastevere. The villa is charming and the few rooms are nicely decorated and clean. Roof top terrace is very nice. Cons: There...

We booked this hotel for a weekend in Rome and it was a mistake. It seemed okay though the bathroom was moist and mouldy. The worst part was that in the evening the place turned to be a disco, party going on to 3 am. There was no manager present during the whole evening, just a doorman. Horrible experience, and...

we decided to book at the San Prancazio because of the quite area and walking distance from the main attractions. We could not sleep at all for both nights, the music from the roof and people coming and going till 03.00 in the morning. Our reservation was a not refundable, we paid in advance, we will ask for a refund...

We were delighted with our choice of B & B, quiet location and convenient to reach all areas of Rome by foot. Our first morning we had a lovely breakfast on the roof terrace. However, that night the roof terrace was converted into a sushi bar for the Rome equivalent of the Made in Chelsea set, The music went on...

Unfortunately the owners of this quaint B&B located in a quiet corner of the Trastevere have decided to convert the rooftop terrace into a disco-sushi-lounge for the summer. From about 7PM until 2:30AM the whole building pulsates with music and the sound of revelers clunking up (and falling down) the narrow staircase. The traffic in and out of the tiny...

My daughter and I stayed here this spring. It is a well appointed small B & B. It has beautiful rooms, and eating breakfast on the rooftop terrace was the perfect start to the day. The breakfasts were ample, fresh fruit, yogurts, bread, pastries, meats, cheese and eggs. They were often enough to keep us going long past lunch. The...

No one on reception, bad-tempered lady doing breakfast, who didn't come to the tables, we had to go to her. A somewhat strange experience, although a pleasant quiet spot to stay in. It's a B&B, the rooms are small but attractive, but pricey for the lack of service

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
